Hello all so recently my cats seem to not work anymore and I have a hole in my muffler. So I figured since im gonna fail smog but I don't have to do it till the end of the year, why not enjoy a straight pipe untill then.

I've seen a video on YouTube.
In the video the person a discontinued straight pipe system that cost $1000

My question is how can i get it to sound like that? Is it just a muffler delete or do i need to do a resonator delete too? and what size diameter should i get. I've seen alot of 3 inch and 2.5 inch

Straight pipe means exactly that...no muffler, cats, or resonator. Since you aren't turbo, I would be keep it with stock diameter...which I believe is like 2.25in. You probably could get away with 2.5in. Be warned, it's probably going to drone on the freeway where it'll get obnoxious.

I actually had that literal same exact exhaust, one piece catback straightpipe. It was super obnoxious and embarrassing on such a slow car. 100% rice. I took if off a day or two later, complete money loss lol. It would have maybe been okay for a huge turbo build. Definitely stick with the smaller 2.25" or 2.5" max. 3" like this one is more for turbo. This one eliminates the muffler and resonator. You could also eliminate the cats. The more you eliminate, the louder. The bigger the pipe, the louder.

Update its been 2 years?? since i deleted my muffler and resonator and cats (they blew up so i had to remove them) I gotta say I live the way the 2jz sounds turbo or not. it just sounds to mean, its hard to explain. as for the drone its tolerably. it doesnt start untill 3-4k rpms and even then im always playing music so i cant tell. It does attract too much attention from cops and random People on the freeway trying race but you cant have them all. anyway i plan to get cutouts so i can enjoy the sound in the canyon or just out for a drive and be quite in late night drives in the city and morning start ups
