yeah I am in a good mood

Well depends on the weather where u live?

I had the SRT w/ecu easy to install

no more tuning I was lazy

I say Short Ram to be safe

With a real "cold air intake" issues with water

ram/short just sucking air in the bay get a heat shield will be good :)

with the SRT it had the piggy back to control fuel air

With a cai/short you can get a SAFC and dyno time in to do it

The only cold-air intake that I'm aware of for the IS is the one from Luxury Motorworks, which will require you to drill a hole in the area underneath your stock airbox. The CAI has it's filter further down, closer to the ground so it supposedly is able to suck in colder air.

A short ram intake uses a conical open element filter that's still in the engine bay. Since the intake sits about the exhaust manifold, you may be sucking in slightly hotter air into the engine.

Overall, I don't think you'll feel much difference in performance.

The SRT intake is nice because it comes with a piggy-back ECU that adjusts your fuel trims to help yield more power gains. However, it does require that you tap/splice into your stock ECU wiring and some people don't like to mess with that.

Hope that helps answer you question.

The SRT & Injen seems to be the top choices from most of the .netters. The Cold Air System always adds a lil' risk for the water induction, so remember to keep in mind your driving enviornment.

I'm not trying to be a smart ass but why do you want this thread deleted? Others can use this info for future reference.
No, if others can use it cool! I had my intake put on last night and I love it. I already dropped my props to IMPRIMUS for helping me cuz i went with his advice and it worked great out 4 me. Short ram turned out to be a better option, not only because of the info he gave me but it works out better in the future if i go with a stg 1 turbo like im planning. im sure he knew dat too.

Hey Mods if this can help someone else like Orange said then keep it around.

An intake doesn't really help you out if you plan to get a turbo kit in the future. It'll be of no use because it can't be used with a turbo kit. I'm glad you're enjoying your intake though, which brand/model did you get?

True, true...
Too bad the short ram intake won't be of much use though.

I didnt mean it would help out with a turbo, I meant it was more economicaly efficient so if i go to a turbo it would be less of a loss. The CAI was more expensive, harder to get and required some extra install work. So the short ram works out better in that regard. Should have worded it better, sorry fellas.

I just went with the K&N Typhoon SRI.
