Well I am now in the market to finish building my head project...I plan on eliminating the vvti and running gte cams on both sides! My question is, what needs to be machined from the cam shaft on the intake side cam? I have everything else needed! Full Ferrera valvetrain, UR cam gears, now getting the cams! I also plan on getting SRT's version 2 intake mani...I am having Head Games in Jersey build the head...I asked them about doing this, like SRT does and they seemed not to understand what I was saying! Also what cams do you guys think I should run 264 or 272... Any pictures, info, and advice would be great! Here is my engine mod list!

Garrett GT35R (w/Turboeast T4 Exhaust Housing)
GTE shortblock w/bored out oil pump
Large 25x12x3 intercooler (maybe that new4.5" one thick is needed?)

dave at headgames should be able to know what to do, he's THE BEST IN THE BIZ!

tell him that the intake side where the vvti cam is located on the stock head, needs to be machined to properly fit

Are the bc cams up to par with hks/jun etc...I know most people eliminate the vvti and run both side cams with aftermarket cam gears! I already have two cam gears and a spare head! SRT eliminates the vvti on all there high hp cars!

Then I would have to swith exhaust mani and all sorts of other stuff! I know SRT does the machining for $200...I just want to know what to machine so I can explain it to my machine shop!

If you take your head and the Cam Cap for the VVTI to your trusted machine shop, they should easily be able to copy it and machine the Cam. It is mostly the VVTI Cap portion that must match up since the Cam rides in this groove and is oiled by the grooves. If Mo told you $200, I'd go with it and call it a day!

Honestly, just go with the BC VVTi cams. It is interchangeable for the 2JZ-GTE VVTi and 2JZ-GE VVTi engines. I currently have the BC VVTi 272 cams and it's working great, no problems. It costs around $550-600(for the PAIR! HKS charges that much per each cam lol) depending on where you shop, and it drops right in the 2JZGE VVTi with no machine work required.

qphoton, I tried sending you the AEM CAL but it didn't go through.
