hello,
i've been having this clicking noise for the last couple of weeks. it happens off and on but when i step on the gas pedal, i would hear and feel a click on the pedal. it would happen when i step down on the pedal maybe 1/8 down. It only happens when the engine is running and i'm in gear. I tried recreating it when i'm in neutral and also when the car is off, but it never happens. anyone know what that might be or is my best bet the dealerships?
It's a 04 5spd w/ 11k if that makes any difference. thanks in advance.

Yea man, I had the same problem. It happened within the first 1,000 miles of me driving my IS. I tool it to the dealership and they just replaced it because its under warranty. I was told that the pedal wasnt put on properly but couldnt tell you what was wrong with it. Just take it to the dealership, good luck.

Ya, I'm having this same problem. Have had my car for about 6 months and 11.5k miles on it and it just started like last week. Its annoying the crap out of me. Any other fix besides having it replaced?

There is a spring located behind the gas pedal.... Try spraying some WD-40 or another type of spray lubricant...

My 01' started making this noise around 20k miles, well I ignored it for a while, till I read somewhere on here that the spring can makes noise or click....
So I finally fixed it when I had 50k miles
Can you imagine ignoring it for 30k miles... The radio seems to block all sorts of noise from the IS....

Try the lubrication of the spring and it should take care of it.. You might as well spray a bit on the other joints on the pedal that look like they can make noise as well..

Good Luck!!
