Going to try to revive as much of this as I can. Pictures won't be exact, and I may not put ALL of the pictures back, but I'll do what I can over time.

Obviously I couldn't include ALL the important posts, so these are the ones with pictures.

No problem man!

I did see the Battle Version video, definitely helped with the first one. I got the passenger side out super easy, but the driver side was much more stubborn. I guess I just had to cut the sleeve more but I finally got it out.

Chiseling from the back side definitely works though if you can get something under the lip. I just wasn't able to since I didn't drop the subframe.

How is the hood not fitting? Maybe it is warped? It also might be having clearance issues. Either that, or I just don't really notice any fitment issues on mine, since it's dark. (part of why I like having a dark colored car is so that all of the gaps aren't obvious)
I think it might not be as bad as I thought, but it is raised along the fenders. like the front along the grill / lips fits fine. And at the corners by the windshield and fenders fits okay, I need to line it up better. But the length portion running the length of the fender seems raised. I mounted one of the hood pins tonight and I think that will help a ton. At least in the picture I took it's not near as noticeable lol

I don't know, could be a lot of thinks. Light in my garage, the silver vs white, it's not lined up great yet so fitment may be off because of that.

I haven't had as much time to work on it as I would have liked, but I should be able to finish it up this week (I hope)

Replaced all 10 rear wheel studs. Ended up with H&R 50mm studs part number 1255044. The knurl length is shorter than the Ichiba that I had, but they seem fine. I didn't really take many pictures lol

If the studs would have been any longer, they wouldn't have fit. These were pretty tight but easy to get in place once you figure it out.

Finally got the other bushing out of the subframe. Ended up having to cut multiple locations trying to relieve pressure. Eventually was able to hit it a few times with a hammer and pop it out.

I mounted the hood pin on the passenger side in a hole that wasn't being used. Had to cut the pin much shorter to get it to fit. I think I've got it set at a good height and having the pin tight helped with the fitment of the hood. Going to work on the driver side soon. There is an existing hole, but it's got some kind of plastic cover under it and I believe the hood latch cable and possibly something else runs under the core support or whatever. Wasn't wanting to take the front bumper off again but looks like I'm going to have to to see what's going on.

I'll be out of town basically Thursday - Sunday morning so I don't know if I'll get to it this week. Just need to get that hood pin mounted, check my oil level since I changed it while it was on jack stands, hook up the battery, and take it for a drive. As long as everything is good I'll put the rest of the kit on until I figure out fenders. And I need to swap over my windshield washer nozzles. They changed design in 2002 I think and the hood currently has the older style lol

It really looks great! The car had a really nice clean look before, but I do think I prefer this more aggressive look, it just seems to fit better somehow. The wheels seem a tad small with the bigger body kit, but only in a couple of pics. The OEM white tail lights look great on there, and I still love the gray hood for some reason lol. Black/blue head lights also look great, as do the mirrors. Definitely all worth it.

#1,825 ·
Thanks man!

I definitely agree on the wheels being small. Although I think the front is okay for the most part. But I really think I want to switch to a 17/18 setup. Just having a tough time deciding if I should stick with my CE28's, look for another monoblock wheel, or go with something multipiece.

Still plan to get fenders and paint the hood first, but keeping my options open on wheels for now.

That car looks great, is the spoiler on the trunk th TRD one? Is it authentic or a copy? How is the fitment of it?
Honestly, I don't know what brand it is. I purchased it used from Japan and the listing had it advertised as "TRD?". I don't believe it is TRD, the ends on the quarter panels are different and I don't think it is as square as TRD. Plus there is no stamping or anything on it like I would expect from TRD. It does have similar brackets to mount it to the sides of the trunk.

Fitment is good for the most part. The gaps along the quarter panel seem larger than necessary but it's not really noticeable

Came across another local deal I couldn't pass up, so I picked up this spare dash board. It has the melting problem just like mine but I can clean it up and paint it at my leisure. Not to mention it was free... so I don't have to stress about it turning out like crap since it can be a test dash or temporary solution. I've started to strip it but it's hot and Arkansas has millions of mosquitos the size of small birds so it makes it difficult to work on stuff outside with water lol

Picked up some Bride "knee pads" I think is what they're called. Basically they protect the side bolsters from ripping when getting in/out of the car.

I have a local guy coming to buy my Volk CE28N this weekend, so I had the front tires removed this week. I'm going to run the front tires on my next wheels, and purchased a new pair of tires for the rears which showed up today.

I've purchased a new set of wheels already. Was hoping they would be here by Saturday at the latest but it's not looking like they will be here until next week.

Haven't had time to do much, work is super busy. Also have another dog lol

Got my "new" wheels in. Fairly pleased. I knew they weren't perfect so that's okay. I thought I could make the rear fit a little better but haven't been able to mess with it.

Replaced a bad o2 sensor on the 4runner, got the tires mounted on the Advans, and put them on the car. That's as far as I've gotten though. Haven't put my side skirts back on, need to adjust the ride height in the rear. Probably going to add a spacer to the front.

I think I've got a bad tie rod end on my driver side. I've noticed a large increase in clunking recently, and when swapping wheels I noticed the boot is torn and there is grease covering it. Going to check again when I have time and then probably just order OEM replacements. They're like $62 shipped each.

I swear I'll eventually get some new fenders and paint the hood...

#1,835 ·
Well, I finally drove the car. Hasn't been out of the garage other than backing it out to take pictures 10 days ago.

Yes, I still plan to pick up new fenders and to have the hood painted this year.

No changes.. Haven't really driven the car at all. They've been doing road work on my route to work and I've had clunking from the front end so haven't wanted to drive it lol

Ordered a new tie rod end from Lexus. I've replaced both in the last few years but I tore the boot on this one a while back. It's slowly been leaking and finally started making noise. Going to try to replace it this week and go back over all the suspension I've touched in the last few months to make sure everything is tight.

That's about it... I need someone to buy my oem flush mount trunk spoiler so I can feel better about finally ordering fenders lol

So I haven't been driving this a whole lot. It's been hot and I haven't spent the time to wash it and they've been doing construction on the highway. Decided to take it out this week and planned on driving it everyday.

Of course, the first day I drive it and my check engine light comes on and TRAC is flashing. Luckily it's just a code for secondary o2 sensors. I've contacted Karl Long about getting a Sim made so that's in the works. I can still drive it so it's whatever lol

Nothing was working out with getting BN Sports fenders, so I ended up buying just a set of Altezza JDM fenders. Will pick them up from the post office tomorrow. I would like to have them widened and add a vent but more realistically I'm just going to get them rolled, fill the fender light, and get them painted. JDM were cheaper than any fiberglass option and cheaper than USDM plus JDM headlights will mount up so I'm okay with it. Torn on filling the fender light it since I have turn signals on my mirrors.

Oh, I found out my hood hits my strut bar. I think that's what is causing the fitment to be a little off. I'm working on a project for my house that is taking priority, but at some point I will notch the hood for clearance.

Thanks man!

I have the side signals on my mirrors and fenders. I don't even care if it is "tacky", my signals are super visible no matter what, which is the point. I'd only fill it in if you hate how they look.
I'm leaning towards keeping them now honestly. I need to check my wiring, I had the fender lights wired up originally. I don't remember if I used that for my mirror lights or not. Only one of my mirrors currently works though :( I need to pull it off and remove the signal to see if I can get someone to fix it. I think the lens cracked and got water on the circuit board.

RIP to the new fenders Corey.

Quit playing around with fenders and just buy JZX arms.
lololol if I can't figure out getting my fenders "pulled" soon I may have to. I don't reaaaally want to raise the car but we'll see. I may raise it a hair and add some camber all around.

Bought a Bride XAX 2 for a passenger seat. Need to pick up a seat rail/slider combo and put it in. Has a rip that my wife is going to sew up for me.

Had our dogs Christmas picture taken to benefit a local animal shelter.

I realized I left out introducing our newest dog... Long story short, a family member got him as a puppy even after being advised not to. We told him to let us know when he decided to get rid of him and in June we got that call. Our intentions were to foster and find a new home but we fell in love with him so he's part of our zoo now. His name is Max.

Sorry lol I know a lot of people don't care about any other aspect other than the IS300, but I enjoy seeing what other people do besides cars so I figured I'd share

Working on adding some storage in the garage

I ordered a pair of fenders, received them, both were damaged. I was sent one replacement, which I thought was going to be for the driver side but ended up being for the passenger side. I had already started working on the driver fender as a "test" subject for hammering the fender lip flat so luckily I didn't screw it up.

And this is how the car currently sits. Has a check engine light for a secondary o2 sensor. Karl Long o2 sim has been ordered but I'm still waiting on it... Battery is now dead because it's sat for about a month and a half and I left one of the doors open for a couple hours on accident the other day.

Need to figure out ride height so I can not destroy these fenders.
Need to get scheduled to have the fenders, hood, mirrors painted.
Need to try and get my passenger mirror LED fixed.
Need to get an alignment once height is finalized.
Need to order seat rail and slider so I can install passenger Bride.
Need o2 sim to arrive to I can get it in and get rid of the CEL.

Was trying to buy a pair of Advan RS in 18x10 +25 to replace my +15 pair, I think they're just a little too aggressive. +25 would be perfect in my opinion. Price is just a little high for me so I am having trouble justifying it when I need other parts lol

Painters tape on the garage floor is for size reference for a shed lol Looking to add a decent size shed to the back yard so I can get my mowers and some other lawn tools/equipment out of the garage.
