Going to try to revive as much of this as I can. Pictures won't be exact, and I may not put ALL of the pictures back, but I'll do what I can over time.

Corey, you are a nintendo whore

I still have my 8-bit, but it doesn't really work anymore.

#1,761 ·
I sold my original nintendo, 2 controllers, gun and 10 games last year for $200
Wait.. is there where I show my old game room where I bought a video game store and put it in my house?
lol I never got into PlayStation or Xbox. Mario Kart 64 and Super Mario World FTW

Well I've tossed around a lot of ideas for next mods and haven't really decided anything lol.

All I've managed is to sell my 17" pair of Blitz 03 and pick up a black Z-Edition Altezza grill

I decided to go another route with Modellista, and bought a pair of Volk CE28N in 17x9 +22. Still on the hunt for another pair lol

Managed to find them brand new. Not worried about getting another new pair, just trying to find a pair in matching color. I can get a pair in bronze but I'm trying to avoid that if I can.

I also pulled off my Vertex fenders and started fixing the one that is cracked. It's fiberglassed and smoothed out, just need to sand the entire fender, add body filler, and I'll see how decent I can paint it. If it goes well enough I plan to fix Elixir as well. And repaint my Ganadors, and paint my Vertex hood spoiler I've had for years lol.

I was making progress on the fenders, but then I gave in and decided to let my wife get a dog. She's been wanting one for years but it wasn't feasible until now. Now I've got a puppy and two cats to entertain.

DSC_5504 by Corey Wattelet, on Flickr

My wife decided she wanted a white husky, so here is Luna. 8 week old husky with a little bit of lab in her.

Correction, you're not a Nintendo whore...you are a wheel whore. Good job :approve:

Managed to pick up another pair of wheels. Was really trying to hold out for a matching pair in silver but couldn't pass up the sizes.

17x10 +35 in gold

Trying to decide if I will be powder coating this pair before putting them on or not. I know I should, and I would prefer to, but we'll see. I'd really like to see how they look on the car with tires and everything before putting any more money into them.

Gonna posts some updates, won't be in order though. This is most recent (worked on yesterday (9/17/2016)

Picked up Street Faction front and rear bash bars. Also grabbed some TRD Yellows

DSC_6358 by Corey Wattelet, on Flickr

Removed rear bumper, FINALLY going to have a crash bar again. Haven't been running one for probably 4 years. I missed out of the originals Street Faction was making but was able to get in on the latest batch.

DSC_6387 by Corey Wattelet, on Flickr

Unfortunately basically none of the bolts lined up for me. It's held on by the two bottom nuts right now and that's it. One of the four bolts lined up. I took some pictures yesterday and emailed Street Faction but have been slowly working on drilling and filing the holes out to get it to work. Not interested in sending it back or waiting another 3 months for another one.

DSC_6353 by Corey Wattelet, on Flickr

Front works out pretty well. The studs on the frame needed to be bent in (saw another member here do the same in their build thread). But even with JDM bumpers the ends don't seem to be bent in enough. That same member (blkedout I think) had an issue with the bar hitting USDM corner lights and ended up cutting the bar short. With Modellista and Elixir the bar hits the ends of the bumper and forces them out. Most noticeably on the driver side with Modellista.

Luna is huge now for anyone that cares and doesn't follow me on Instagram lol

DSC_6142 by Corey Wattelet, on Flickr

Well we also "rescued" another dog. From what we were told, she was raised on a chain and barely fed, was rescued by another person but after about 3 weeks of them owning her they couldn't handle her. So we picked her up. She gained about 8 pounds in the first week we had her.

Both dogs are Husky/lab mix but they are completely different.

Oh I did do some maintenance a couple weeks ago. Amsoil trans and diff fluid, oil change, cabin filter change, cleaned and re-oiled my k&n intake filter too.

IMG_8467 by Corey Wattelet, on Flickr

So that pretty much is where I'm at. Bought a house a couple months ago so house stuff > car stuff for a while.

I do know I've got a bad driver door lock actuator and one of my trunk hinge brackets broke in half. Neither has been a huge deal but they will be getting replaced soon. Also want to replace serpentine/drive belt so I'll probably order that at the same time as the actuator since they are Lexus only part numbers and I haven't been able to find any cross referenced Toyota numbers.

Plan to sell my Blitz, replace some bushings in the rear and traction arms, and powder coat my gold pair of CE28 silver.

Man, I don't know how you were able to cut the rear bar to fit. Chargespeed has to have more room than the OEM JDM bumper/Modellista bumper, the stubs that the bar mount to wouldn't even fit! I ran without front or rear bars for 4 or so years :serious: was always scared lol I'm so glad Street Faction did another run of these, I wasn't able to get in on the initial run and have been wanting them forever.

Thanks! I'm hoping I can get the wheels powder coated to match in the next couple months

man this thread makes me want another is300! maybe i should sell my frs.... beautiful is300, one of the nicest ones ive seen
***Edit*** went thru all 119 pages, great read! love all the phases you went thru!
Thanks! FRS are definitely cool though!

Can't believe you took the time to go through all the blabbering lololol so much back and forth indecisions. Nothings changed

Congrats on the new house man... very very nice!
Cool dogs too
Thanks man! lol life sure is interesting now

looking good man. your dogs are beautiful!
Thanks dude :nerd:

Corey i wanna see that kit on before i paint my car again......im serious :)
You and me both! See next post, finally might be able to move that direction

How are you liking the subframe collars? Is there any increase in vibration or any weird noises?
Hmmm... I haven't had any new noises or vibrations after going to the collars. I would say no change as far as that goes. My car has been making funny noises from the rear (unrelated to the collars, present before install) so I haven't driven the car as hard as I usually do lol but the few times I have the rear definitely feels more firm and consistent.

For around/under $150 I don't think you can go wrong with them. They're a fairly easy install if you're competent and the underside isn't rusted lol

man i miss that grill haha i didnt notice it till now
'

 can't wait to get this thing together one day.

Sweet car! I love white on these cars, makes them look super clean. Love the dogs too!
Thanks on both counts!

White was definitely my favorite on the IS. Eventually I'll have this thing all painted and it'll be a VERY tough decision on whether or not I change colors or not.

Also pick up a pair of trunk hinges to replace mine. The brackets on one of mine cracked in half and the other side is cracked but hanging in there. I think my car never had the correct springs installed for the trunk with the factory spoiler or something because the trunk never popped quite like the 2001 with no spoiler I had. I believe they cracked and broke from the shock of being closed a little firmer than I should have lol either way, I finally managed to snag some that were white and had no signs of cracking

In more important news, after 9 years of daily driving the IS, I finally bought something to daily in it's place. Had a friend that posted his 2004 Toyota 4Runner for sale and ended up buying it. 4wd, v8, 134k miles lol should be perfect for winter and hauling the dogs around in, just wish it was white.

So I replaced the door lock actuator on my front driver door the week before Thanksgiving. Well I found out the hard way that you shouldn't remove the latch for the assembly unless you pay attention to how it goes together. The door lock and handle functioned as they should (or so I thought) before I fully installed everything, so I put it back in the door and attempted to shut/open the door. Well it partially shut... and locked. I couldn't open the door or get it to fully close. Luckily I didn't install the door panel before trying it but still very little room to work with. Basically I ended up breaking off the plastic cover from the entire assembly, was able to unbolt the new actuator from the latch assembly after attempting everything I could to get it open including plugging power to it to unlock it, so now I'm left with basically the latch assembly in the door.

As of today, I still haven't got my door open LOL. I was able to get it fully shut after messing with it, but it was still locked. I was okay with this for a while because I could drive the car and let it sit without worrying about the battery draining but I got tired of climbing in through the passenger side. The IS has sat for over 2 weeks now without being started...

I bought a full latch/actuator assembly and received it last week. I spent some time with it trying to see what I could that was different and determined that everything with the actuator and assembly was hooked up correctly. That left only the latch. I opened it up to find the cam, latch, and 2 springs and played around with everything. I did determine what I did wrong so that's good, I now know why the door won't open and I have an idea of what I need to do to get it open, but I have yet to really work on it lol. I'll maybe work on it next week/weekend and try to get some pictures. I know the information on the latch would be very helpful in the DIY thread for the actuator replacement, there was at least one other guy that commented in there that I assume did the same thing

Will update again when I have updates lol
