Going to try to revive as much of this as I can. Pictures won't be exact, and I may not put ALL of the pictures back, but I'll do what I can over time.

Welp, did some cleaning this weekend so I decided to try to get a video of my exhaust.

The car sat after washing. I had no idea water came out
Second one obviously wasn't focused lol.

Hmmm... Not too high. One video was a cold start so maybe only 5krpm, the other was hot so almost to redline.

Tip size doesn't bother me. It's a little dented (not perfectly round) which does bother me but I'll fix it eventually. Other than that I'm fine size wise. I do want it to poke out a little more so thanks to TobiaSing I may have a cheap solution  gonna look into getting some flanges to space it maybe 1".

Looks and sounds good man!!
Thanks! I'm really glad I pulled the trigger on it.

Looks good. I missed what exhaust it is?
its the buddy club exhaust. Its posted on the last page, i think
Yes, Buddy Club Spec 2. I've only seen one other (ultrakirill) I think on an IS in the states. Would have been cheaper to have had a axle back straight pipe made but that's fine with me. I'll have an exhaust made eventually.

Sounds good man!!
Thanks, and I FINALLY PM'd you back.

I was looking for something online and came across this DIY on clubrsx forum. Thought this might help you on your question
DIY: Aftermarket Steering Wheel SRS Indicator Light Bypass Using Works Bell Resistors - Club RSX Message Board
I had seen that actually. I'm going to call Evasive sometime this week to talk to them about what the Works Bell U-turns really consist of. And as far as I know they have a reference for what cars/models and what they need. So at least I can figure out an idea.

I was hoping to install the wheel a while back but ran out of time and never figured this out. So it's still on hold. I need a horn button anyway so whatever.

Still no lips from Wheel Flip. Called a week ago and they told me they should be done and back in on Friday. Thursday night they posted on facebook that they moved locations and had a new number (which doesn't work) so I haven't been able to get ahold of them on the phone for a week. FINALLY got someone to email me back who said they should have an update today. Still waiting to hear.

All I do is wait with them. Friday will be 23 weeks since the day I ordered. 6 F-ing months for a plain ass set of chrome lips. :screwy:

But wait, there's more! It gets better.

Apparently Alex (the owner of Wheel Flip) has been out of the town/country. So Last week I was talking to Jeff. He checked everywhere and basically said he has no idea where my lips are. They don't have 4.5" lips for Blitz 03 at the shop, they don't have 4.5" lips for Blitz 03 at the chrome plater/polisher, and they don't have 4.5" lips at the machine shop that does custom drill/bore on their lips.

SO he basically said he ordered a pair of 18x4.5" reverse lip blanks that need to be bored and drilled for Blitz 03. It would take 2 weeks for them to be finished and be sent to chrome.

I'm trying to get ahold of Alex as soon as possible. Emailed him multiple times this weekend with no response, will email again tomorrow and if he doesn't respond by late afternoon I will be calling. I want answers tomorrow or my money back.

It's going to cost me more to have them done someplace else but I don't know that I can trust them. They told me back in March they were ordering blanks to be custom bored/drilled for my centers. If they didn't do it then why are they going to now?

I will NOT recommend ANYONE to use Wheel Flip. Their custom service is absolutely horrible, no one knows what is going on in the shop, and I've heard from multiple people now of lost orders. If they aren't going under now I wouldn't be surprised if they do soon. Screw them.

Let me understand this correctly about your SRS delete that you want to do. So, your looking for a resistor to make the car think you have an SRS steering wheel. And you plugged them in like your supposed to and your still getting the SRS light? Or, you haven't gotten that far, cus your stumped on what resistor to get?
My SRS plug inside the steering wheel only had 1 female plug with 2 prongs inside. Wasn't complicated, but the instructions show it with multi style plugs. Gotta see what your plug looks like, cus I never taken my IS300 airbag out. Have you?

FYI:
This thread is the best for SRS light delete DIY Guide: How to Reset your SRS Light. (Visual Guide) - Club RSX Message Board
All the other threads I found were worthless or just dumb BS answers. I followed a lot of threads and never worked, until I came across the thread linked above. Worked on my 1st try.
The problem was I didn't want to pull everything apart twice  Or put the wheel on not knowing what resistor I needed to get rid of the light, so I would have to go have the light cleared and try different resistors until I figured it out.

But I got it taken care of :) more information in the next post.

Ok so for my steering wheel I'm obviously loosing the air bag which would cause the SRS light to come on. This basically makes all other air bags in the car inactive because it looks like there is a fault in the system. Resistors can be used to put a load on the circuit making it think the air bags are still plug in so all of the other air bags work like normal.

I found ZERO information on this through my research. Finally talked to BlackSportD and he wasn't sure, but thought it would be the same as the seats. So that was the only real guess I had and it ended up working.

The steering wheel SRS light can be fixed with a 3.3ohm resistor just like the seats. I used three 10ohm 1/2watt resistors in parallel to make my own U-Turn harness instead of the $20 Works Bell one lol. I would have preferred the Works hub but needed to save some money :(

Anyway, I didn't even grab pictures of the hub or anything lol. But I have some shitty pictures from my install. I forgot to grab my camera

Air bag off. The two screws on the side PISSED me off. They don't fit through the holes! I had to pull the plastic sides out so they fell down in between so I could get the air bag out

Plugged in. It was a little bulky but there is room underneath the column to hide it. The wire I used was thick enough that it was very snug in the plug. I then zip tied it to some other plugs underneath.

I was planning on ordering a Vertex horn button and a pair of tires this week but things are on hold until I figure out the lip situation. Already checking with a couple other places to get me lips.

I will be doing some cleaning in the next week so I'll get some better pictures soon.

I had to do some air bag rewiring as well for my TRD Wheel. Limited info as well. O well.
Ahhh yeaaaahhh.

I considered a TRD wheel, but for the price I just couldn't do it. I remember seeing something about wiring it though, something like it needed an adapter for the newer models. Sounds like you figured it out though :approve:

Went ahead and ordered a new Vertex horn button.

Holding off on tires, I've got my eyes on something WAY cooler. Crossing my fingers it works out.

Nothing on my lips yet. Wheel Flip doesn't like giving updates.

Anyway, finally wired up my fender marker lights.

Link to where I got the idea: http://my.is/forums/f90/jdm-fender-signal-question-494017/

Basically extended the power wire on the side marker lights back to the fenders. Then ran a wire from ground on the light to power on one of the turn signal bulbs in the head lights.

Had to pull off the fenders and stuff, so I redid my side skirts since they were hanging funny. Went ahead and did my spring cleaning. Clay bar and wax, pulled the interior and vacuumed everything, leather cleaner and conditioner. Fun stuff.

ALSO, I assumed since Modellista Qualitat is JDM (shorter) that it would not fit with USDM crash bar. I saw somewhere here that another member said it did so I tried it out while I had the bumper off.

Modellista Qualitat front bumper DOES fit with USDM crash bar. You have to remove the foam but it does fit. So I now have a front crash bar installed (again) lol.

looks great sir. god your car makes me envious lol... I need to fix my front end (again) & repaint it

#1,566 ·
lol thanks! I wish my front end looked as good in person as it does in the video though. Front bumper (side skirts and rear bumper), fenders, and mirrors are different shades of white.

Paint has some chipping, clear coat has some peeling, really the paint isn't good on any of them

So I held off on buying tires, but I picked up something else that really turns me on. Hopefully I'll have it in about 2 weeks.

Love those clusters... just too bad they don't go above 180 km/h :)

#1,569 ·
Lol

wheres the window covers?
Still in my closet :( I'm 90% sure I want to paint them, but I feel like they need modified to let air flow through them rather than being a catch.

If I ever get my wheels done I may stick them on temporarily for some meets or pictures. But I won't be installing them for good for a while. Apartment living (parking outside) with them scares me. And highway driving with them scares me. I don't know what I'd do if one flew off going 70+

Well I picked up a new Vertex horn button. But it's always something :( Because I am just running a short hub (no quick release and not the standard hub size) it doesn't fit. The button is too thick and hits the locking nut for the steering wheel.

Oh well, going to have my fiancés dad machine me a small 7/16" spacer. That should give me the clearance I need without putting the wheel too much closer to me.

Also have another JDM King Chado approved part coming in :) :) :) :)
Hoping it is here by the end of next week.

Love the blinker setup. Im going to do that on my DC2 front corner markers. I have a dual filament for the parking/blinker and a peanut bulb on the side of them for coner visibility at nite. But I want them to blink like your sidemarkers. So, once the rain stops here in Wet Weather Washington, I will be tackling this. Since it shouldnt take that long to do. But it might be a pain if I have to take my bumper off to do it. Then that will just add to my DIY: to do list #9 lol

Bought some tires last week. Nankang NS-20 in 225/35/18 ... little more stretch than I wanted but at least they should fit and I'll be able to go lower and actually turn. I think.

Dirty car, but quick test fit.

Wheels clear my LS400 calipers with NO spacer. Nothing hits at full lock. And they don't seem to hit the spindle. Need to get it lifted with the suspension loaded to make sure, when I fit them with no tires it was close. I have 3mm spacers I can throw on if needed but I'd love to run spacer free for the first time in like 3 years

Still no rear lips from Wheel Flip.

stance is coming together. Agreed with tobi... ;)

So I got this big ass box from Japan today...

push1_zps065b34cc by Corey Wattelet, on Flickr

What could it be???

Well actually it was mainly Honda Fit parts for a friend (center console with arm rest, power folding mirrors with LED's). But I had a little something thrown in..

OEM 100% Plug and Play Push Start. Was a factory accessory for Altezza's, discontinued in like 2007 I think, but I managed to find one complete with harness.

Pretty pointless as you have to turn key, flip toggle, press clutch, push button. But I'm a sucker for rare stuff and small details.

Anyway, ignore the dirty interior! Installed tonight quick and easy, tested to work 100% fired up first try. No more broken key plastics for me  (still working on a spacer for my steering wheel so I can install the horn button :pissed:)

Also, lips have "shipped" from Wheel Flip. I haven't received a tracking number but I was supposed to have gotten one today :suspiciou we'll see.

I just hate to see such nice lips on the wheels so exposed to getting destroyed lol

But I wonder if your huge box came from the same Japan seller my LED folding mirrors came from yesterday lol

That engine start is really cool, even if it is pointless lol. Seems like just something fun to have, I wouldn't mind it just for the heck of it. Can you start the car regularly with the key, or do you have to use the button every time now?

#1,579 ·
Well honestly I don't know how long the wheels will be on the car. Half way through summer and I still don't have the rears finished because of Wheel Flip.

I've really been thinking that I'm not going to have the wheels on when I go back to school for my last semester. My car sits outside at my apartment and the roads are so shitty...

We'll see what I decide once I FINALLY get them on. I got a tracking number for the rear lips, they should be here Thursday. Just have to cross my fingers they are the right size and fit :pissed:

I doubt it was the same seller, did you get them off ebay? I use an individual to purchase things off Yahoo Japan Auctions.

Yeah the push start is just something I wanted to have to be different really. I'm a sucker for rare stuff, and LOVE OEM plug and play parts lol. The key still works as usual, you just have the option of using either.

I eventually want to wire the toggle switch to work in place of the clutch switch. So I can flip the toggle and push the button to start without using the clutch. It's the same thing as the clutch switch guys do to avoid crank walk. I think.

One of my friends is a car audio/alarm/remote start installer and he wants me to get rid of the key motion. So it would be like newer Nissan's (and others I'm sure), my key would just be there to lock/unlock the car. Another key would be under the dash so all I need to do is flip the toggle and push start.

I don't really like the idea at all

Literally a patch harness with two wires spliced and an added fuse ;) If you want more I'll have to get back under and look at it  I just threw it in and BAM worked with no issues.

Yeah I got mine off Ebay, so unless it's the same guy there and yahoo, who knows lol.
Nahhh he JUST does Yahoo stuff. And drifts a lot lol

I wouldn't recommend doing the hidden key trick, unless you have a kill switch. To easy to steal, if they get in and say to themselves, "I wonder if this button works?". Vrooom and they're gone

I like the little things, especially if its plug n play. Nice pick up
Exactly why I don't want to lol

After having it in for a little bit I definitely want to bypass the clutch switch. I'll be looking into that soon.

Update coming next post...

I FINALLY received the correct lips on Thursday. I've been busy putting them together, engagement pictures, my brother came back in town, my fiancés dads birthday, and fathers day, but they are put together and ready for tires. Just have to cross my fingers they don't leak air ...

Going to run down my Wheel Flip experience for anyone that hasn't read it... Sorry to those who have

I ordered a PAIR of chrome 18x4.5" reverse lips November 29th.

Called the next Monday to confirm stock and see if I needed to send my centers in for fitment verification. Was told NO I did not need to.

Mid-February I receive a pair of lips, my centers were out for powder coat so I couldn't test fit for a couple weeks, turns out they DID NOT fit. Had to send them back WITH one of my centers. They were received March 11th-ish.

March 28th-ish they inform me they do not have 18x4.5 lips in the correct bolt pattern to fit Blitz 03's. Said they would order custom blanks to be drilled to fit but would take 2-4 weeks or something.

I lost track of things at this point. Mid-April they said they came in and were at chrome. End of April they said they were still at chrome.

I think around the first week of May they basically said they don't know where my lips are. But would order ANOTHER pair...

End of May they said they should be done next week, June comes around they the were done but one bubbled and had to be redone, should be done Tuesday, FINALLY shipped on Friday the 6th.

Basically no one knew what was going on with them. After I sent the first pair back they waited over a month to tell me that they didn't have 18x4.5 in stock. Terrible customer service, don't answer emails, don't always answer calls.

I specifically asked the DAY AFTER I ORDERED if I needed to send a center to confirm fitment. It was packed and ready to ship that day. I was told no, it was no problem they had the right ones IN STOCK. It took almost exactly 28 WEEKS to get the right ones after multiple excuses.

I'm just glad it's done. I will NEVER use Wheel Flip again, and I will NEVER recommend anyone to use Wheel Flip for any work. During this time I've found MULTIPLE people from different areas who have all had issues with them.
