c) In 18x9 +37 and 18x10 +37

i would do option C. probaly the second cheapest easiest way. you can keep your rears and move them to the front and just buy 2 x10 wheels for the rears. the 18x8s will just have to sit in the garage. maybe make a fancy spare trunk enclosure with one.

or just sell everything and buy a new set. chaulk it up as a loss.

#327 ·
Let me just say:

*SHIPPING WHEELS IS A PAIN IN MY ASS*

Especially if you don't know the buyer from the forums (IE: I know Corey, and I know he'd be patient and cooperative with buying my wheels). Some people are extremely impatient and can't imagine waiting a week and a half.

/vent

Corey, go with option C. If you're going to sell the SSR's, then at least go another inch all around! Do a 9/10 and you'll be happier. My coilovers suck a ton as well, and I know for a fact I'm going to rub like crazy up front on turns and dips. But who cares

#329 ·
At least they got coils...i sadly dont.

But I am like white IS, I am a Uni (Canada) student, so I cant go and get the coils I want either...gotta run the Tein S-tech for now.

But on topic, I'd say, if you can, go for Option C. If you just dont have the time or funds to do it, you could go for option A and see how you like it. Run with that for a bit and if you decide to end up going with Option C, then you can sell the rims either w/ or w/o the spacers.

#330 ·
if you REALLY REALLY REALLY want to get into the modding game, get a job and save.
i've had coilovers ever since i was a sophomore in highschool, and i worked my ass off for them.
but in all honesty dont take short cuts. do everything in the beginning so you dont regret wasting money on dumb crap.

#331 ·
Option C. Have you tried driving around with your 18x9's up front? At least, that will give you an idea of what kind of work you will have to do.

#339 ·
My ipod module is mounted behind the upper dash tray.

If you have people in back, you probably have a passenger up front. Let him/her change the song. I'd drop the wire right under the HU to make it easier for you. If you need a cable extension or an adapter that allows your phone to charge while plugged in, check out cablejive.com

I didn't think about mounting it behind the dash tray! That's a good idea. I was planning on putting it to the left of the head unit towards the steering wheel in that empty space.

But where does your plug come out from? I can't tell where it comes from in your pic.

#343 ·
The cable keeps the phone from moving front to back, and the rubber shelf liner keeps it from moving side to side.

#345 ·
^^ It looks good. I was thinking about the grom unit also. I take it this is version 2. Does it matter if I have a cd jammed in my HU? When I had my d3 in, I had my ipod cable just sticking out, kind of like rvalero. My ipod used to be upside down though because I didn't want the cable to show when I unplugged it and left the car.

#346 ·
Here are some threads for you :)

http://my.is/forums/f103/quick-grom-audio-aux-adapter-question-399788/

This thread was the same question you had :approve:

http://my.is/forums/f103/ipod-contr...en-is300-200-finally-found-plugn-play-347712/

Both threads say that the CD player does NOT have to be working to use the adapter.

Also, check the dates on the post from the big iPod control solution thread. Grom seems to have fixed all of the bugs/issues people were having. Of course I've only had mine in for a couple of days, but I haven't had one single problem. Sound quality is great so I have no complaints.

I got this one. GROM iPod Adapter Direct Interface(GROM-I2-TOY). It's supposed to play/charge all iPhones, iPods, and iPod touches.

Toyota / Scion / Lexus GROM iPod Adapter Direct Interface

And since I mainly listen to music from my phone, I won't be leaving it in the car. I just want things to be clean, so I'd like to have a place to tuck the cable away when I'm not using it. That's why the cup holder under the arm rest appealed to me.

#347 ·
Damn man you treated me like a noob with all the links, I did read those but I thought I would ask again...lol. I used my ipod all the time .The cable was under the tray so you could push it back when not in use.:p

1 thing is??? the double sided tape showing from under the lip front and rear?

lol. The black trim is a rubber gasket. It is mainly done to protect the paint of the bumpers from the lips, but for me, it also helped with the fitment on the. They hide some of the gaps.

And check your threads on ISF! I would like a price quote :)

But this is how I have my iPod adapter for now. It will get moved eventually.

Try mounting the GROM behind/beside the radio, and run the cord either out under the trac control/heated seat buttons, or if you do it to the glove box then run it out behind and under the door instead of right out... I found it messes with the hinges and the door doesn't close right/flush.

Is the black gasket an actual piece of gasket, or is it like black sealant? Could have used white silicone?

:pissed:

lol The Grom is only in the glove box temporarily. People had issues with it so I left it in an easily accessible spot incase I had any porblem. I'm going to move it to come out from under the TRAC and heated seats and see if I like it. If not, I'll be moving it to come out from underneath the arm rest.

The black gasket is an actual gasket. Johnnysyks (Spelling?) is running some white gaskets, but I personally like how the black breaks up the white. The only thing I don't like is that it's falling off my rear lip. I don't really care to mess with it for now. If it gets really bad I'll redo things. But it's not a priority right now.

Meh... I'd consider CW painted wheels with chrome lips, but blakc lips are a little out there.

I'll be replacing the kit eventually with something else. And I like it for now :approve:

Nice fall season pics!

Are you going to paint your front "L" to match the rears? Looks good though cause it flows with your chrome headlight housings.....I'm just stuck between having chrome rings or not...my front emblem is painted BP...so maybe I should just paint the whole housings BP......sorry for the rambling ....talking "out loud" to myself! lol
Thanks! Actually, I had the from "L" painted with the Duplicolor Metalcast (similar to BP emblems) when I had my stock grill. I ended up not liking it though. And it started to chip so I took the paint off of it.

I think having some chrome changes things up a bit :) I say if you do chrome rings on the head lights then leave the emblem chrome. No chrome rings, then paint it :approve:

ok ok...right on! I used this different type of spray paint that bonds nicely on plastic. So far its holding up pretty good. Here's the thread I posted in the Sportcross Forum...I got no love from pretty much no one..lol But it's an identical match to my OEM BP rear emblems..Anyways...I am going to use the same paint on the housings to have that BP look...I will probably just do it all BP.

That last pic is sexy though BTW!

Thanks! How are things going for you? I haven't heard from you in awhile.

Those pics are awesome man!
lol. This is the first time someone has actually commented on the actual picture! I'm trying to get better. But none of the pictures from today have any editing. I have a lot more, but they didn't come out as good.

Coming along very nicely :approve:

x3

Edit: Everyone, Please try to delete IMG code before replying to ALL the pics. Especially if it isnt related to ALL the pics :p

Thanks

Get the gasket for white cars, it would look sooooooo much better. It's like a light gray color..
:pissed: Gaskets are staying until I go with a different kit.

Thanks for all the comments though!
I originally wanted grey gaskets. But I couldn't find the part numbers for them. I'll consider redoing them if I can get part numbers :)

And where's Johnnysks at?? I would like to see some close ups of his gaskets. Were they very thick? Shaped like a T? If you don't see this I'll PM you.

This is what Johnnysks's looks like

I'm looking for most info on his gaskets. I know he PM'd me about them, but I guess I deleted it :(

Does anyone have any other pictures of the grey gaskets?

EDIT: I can't really find much info right now on Johnnysks gaskets. I know he got them from SuperShyGuy on clublexus, but I searched SuperShyGuys posts and didn't see anything about selling gaskets... So I'm still looking.

But what do you guys think? Should I get Project Kics R40 Neo Chrome? I wanted them originally, but wasn't sure they would go with gold. I love the Ray's but they scratch/chip way too easily.

I couldn't decide if I like the Neo Chrome with gold or not. Sometimes I think it looks good, but then others I don't.

I need to stop wanting to change shit. I'm trying to keep things cheap. HAHA yeah right :pissed:

Everything is good. I still haven't got done with what we talked about...lol.
Glad everythings good. Get things finished up though! I want to see :p

Nice find Bean.

Corey check out this site (Find Toyota Parts at Discount Toyota Parts - DiscountToyotaParts.com) and use this part# 7687802020B0. The last digit is a 0 not an O.
Thanks guys. I originally could not find that :(

Rey is that the same gasket you are running? Or were you running the black ones?

And Bean do you happen to have any real close-ups of it? I'm just worried it will be too thin and my gaps will show enough more.

Since you obviously like the way that the black gaskets look on your car, why not keep them?
I do like the black, but I originally wanted the light grey ones. These are cheaper than the ones I got? So $20 to do all four lips is a lot better than $75. Plus mine seem too have lost some of there stickiness? My rear gasket is falling off.

Just to whore in your thread lol

The grey gaskets would flow a lot better and less noticeable. And its the thin gaskets that go with the kit you have.

neo chrome lugs would look fly on gold!
I can't decide if I like the Neo Chrome or not...

Thanks for all the help guys :)
