This is what I used...

I found the part number for the gasket I used on my rear lip. It's a rubber T gasket used in a couple Toyota applications I think. One piece is long enough for the entire rear lip.

Toyota PN #76875-06020-C0

Like stated before, this is the molding piece I used for my front lip, you need 2 of them to do the entire front lip.

Toyota PN #61783-35071

These are just the pieces that I have found and used, there are probably more and other applications as well.

Nice pics!

Lookin' flush!

Thanks! But I think it definately needs some spacers!

told'ya so :p
Yeah yeah. I have some questions for you (or anyone). Will spacers affect my camber? I think I've figured out my plan....

I'm pretty sure my rear passenger side is rubbing the liner. So I'm going to heat and smash it up until no more rub.

Then I'm going to roll (well pull) the rear passenger side so that it's even with the driver side.

I'm going to see about hammering the front fenders FLAT, possibly the rears too. And from there I'll figure out what size spacers to run.

I'm just not sure if I need to shoot high to account for more camber or what. With my camber right now in front I can probably run a 10mm or 15mm spacer. Maybe even more. The rear just needs around a 10mm I think, maybe just a 5mm.

What do you think? I've kinda decided just to say f*** it and make it work.

#237 ·
If the rear passenger side is rubbing the liner where the bumper tab is, mashing it won't do anything unless you trim the bumper bracket, and flatten the tab a little more first.

RTUNED said he did this much.

xagenesis: How much did you have to trim that part?

I'll have to get some pics, but I'm pretty sure I shaved that much off on both sides.

When I look at it, the actual liner is almost like it's stuck in the gap between the quarter panel and the bumper. There is like an edge that sticks out. This is the best picture I have right now...

See how the plastic liner is sticking out? I had it taped up and there were holes "burned" through the tape in that area. And it looks like the liner is being rubbed. It's just been so damn hot I haven't wanted to work on it again.

EDIT: Ok this is the best I can do for now... Look at this pic...

100_1043-1 by Corey Wattelet, on Flickr

Obviously we rolled the entire fender.
Where the red line is, we cut a slit.
The blue line is the edge by the bumper tab. We hammered that up.
Then we rolled all the way to the cut OVER the blue line.

It's not the best picture. But it should give you an idea of what I mean. I'm really going to try to get some pictures tomorrow.

lol, I've rubbed ONCE in front. I was backing out of a parking spot at an angle at full lock. Other than that I haven't had any problems. What does your front look like? I thought I read something about needing negative camber to clear the fenders when you turn? Maybe you don't have as much as I do? I don't know

Yeah but you took out the fender liner right? And you destroyed the rear bumper tab  By the way, how is your bumper staying on?

the spacers wont affect your camber "a lot"
so it doesnt matter, you wont need another alignment.
Ok I didn't think it would change things that much.

Alright I tried to get some decent pictures of some stuff... But I'm in a hurry so I didn't take the wheel off or anything.

100_1114 by Corey Wattelet, on Flickr

I edited that ^^ picture to show what's going on.

100_1114-1 by Corey Wattelet, on Flickr

The red lines show where the liner has ripped.
The yellow circle shows a part that looks like it's been shaved down. I don't remember cutting any part of it so I'm guessing it's from rubbing.

100_1115 by Corey Wattelet, on Flickr

Again, I edited that ^^ picture to show a little of what's going on.

100_1115-1 by Corey Wattelet, on Flickr

The yellow circle is where the bumper tab is. It's rubbed at some point. I just don't know when. I didn't tape it up so I'm going to do that today.

These are the best I could get with the wheel still on...

100_1116 by Corey Wattelet, on Flickr

100_1119 by Corey Wattelet, on Flickr

Edit, of this ^^ picture...

100_1119-1 by Corey Wattelet, on Flickr

Do I need to take more off where the red is?
I guess I didn't roll the tab enough. I heated it up like Rey said but it doesn't look like it even did anything. So I'll try that again.

And I tried to get 2 comparison pics, but I'm not sure if these are the best. In person though it's pretty obvious. If you look at the edge of the bumper, look how much the wheel sticks out on the passenger side.

I would shave the bumper bracket down to the width of the bumper. Any more seems pointless since you would hit the poly bumper anyway. As for the mounting tab, I would take it down to the point that you would just about hit the bolt (and I think you've already done that).

Is the poly bumper tab flush with the bolt and bracket? If it isn't, heat it up again, and roll it flush with a sparkplug socket or something similar. Is that the spot where you wore a hole through the tape?

#246 · (Edited)
Travis, this is why I'm not rubbing in front. I have NO suspension travel

That is with my car parked with only the front wheel up on the edge of my garage, with me jumping in the door frame lol.

And this is what my rear bumper tab looks like now...

Hopefully that takes care of your rubbing issues. BTW, you need new coilovers BAD! You've got about as much suspension travel as this thing LOL.

I see no picture :suspiciou
EDIT: I see picture now

lol, but yeah you're telling me! I need new front upper A arms, new rear lower control arms, AND new coilovers :pissed: The rear isn't near as bad. So I guess I could raise the front a little and gain some travel... I might mess with it and see if it still looks good. Maybe move it up to 23.75"?

I took it out for a ride through my neighborhood when I got done though. I STILL rubbed once. But it was on a pretty large dip/bump. So for now I'm going to leave it and see how bad it is driving through town and everything. Atleast now I know 100% WHERE I'm rubbing. It's on the liner right where the bumper tab is. I'm not sure what to do about it since I'm already shaved a good bit off there...

Oh and my fenders are rolled evenly even though my passenger side looks more flush than the drive side :pissed: The only thing I can see causing it is camber. Driver side is at -2.8* and passenger side is at -2.5*. Toe is both at .09*. But still would -0.3* of camber make it off by ~3-5mm?

And is are my toe settings bad? Should I be seeing uneven wear?

Here's an actual pic of RTUNED's car. He came in closer to the bolt than you did.

http://i276.photobucket.com/albums/kk12/R_TUNED/DSC00699.jpg
I remember seeing that. I posted the picture of what I did to it last night, but it STILL rubbed. So this morning I went out and shaved even more. It came out something like this...

100_1141-1 by Corey Wattelet, on Flickr

I shaved more of the tab closests to the bumper, I shaved around the tab all the way down to the washer, I shaved some of the washer down, and I even shaved some of the bolt head down to try to get more room for the liner. But of course I still some how rub. I even raised it up alittle bit. I'm running out of ideas lol.

And do you think my toe is that bad? It looks like I have a pretty good amount, but .09 degrees? It said 0.00 to 0.25* was "in range"

mmmm, thats a sexy IS!
Thanks

Dude, Corey..... The front suspension is out of control... LOL now we know why you don't rub!!
Yeah lol. But I raised it up a little bit (still under 24") and it still doesn't rub. Before, the ride was SO stiff. I hated it. Everything felt like a huge pothole. I didn't realize I had NO suspension travel until I shot that video  But by raising it maybe 1/2" it's so much freaking better. Less negative camber, I actually have suspension travel, AND I don't rub.

LOL i wanna see you try to do that to my car, stiffen up your coils.
I wanna see you come work your magic on my car so I don't freaking rub anymore!

oh wow such sexy rims what rims are those?
Read?

SSR MS1's
18x8/9 +37 offsets
Yes lol, please read. They are SSR Professor MS1's in 18x8 +37 and 18x9 +37.

I have +.25 toe, and after ~1k miles, my tires seem ok. I ran my specs by TeCK. He said that they aren't aggressive, and that I should have good tire life. The alignment guy said that the extra toe would help keep the inner tread from wearing out really fast...or something like that.

Specs:
...................LF........RF........LR........RR
Camber......-.625....-1.375....-1.75...-1.50
Caster.........7.5........7.5
Toe............0.25......0.25.......0.25.....0.25

Hmm... Is your toe in mm's or degree's? I went to a different shop. With my stock wheels it was measured in mm's. It had the specs to be in range from -.6mm to 1.9mm in front, and 0.0mm to 2.5mm in the rear.

This time it was measure in degrees. .25 would pretty much fall in both measurements, so I wanted to see what yours was :approve:

Oh and... I'm pretty sure my inner part of my rear tires are wearing already :pissed:

But I guess Sang is right. I'd probably be fine (rubbing wise) if I could stiffen up the rear...

drive your ass out to cali, AFTEr you get some decent coils lol
I just might one of these days!

And I had an idea. My old front springs were 210mm long and 10kg/mm. My new rear springs are 200mm long and 8kg/mm. My old front springs are only 10mm longer, and are still shorter than the "stock" spring by 20mm, so I'll still be able to go as low (or lower since they are stiffer) than I am now and hopefully not rub since they are stiffer.

You think it would be worth it to try that?

It looks so good, but I couldn't drive it without the proper driving experience. That's what drove me to the car. My BMW was tucking the rear wheel by 2 inches and still rode like a caddy smooth. Had Koni Yellows on it and Eibach.

The car drives normal now that I raised it back up. It's back to being almost the same as it was with my stock 17's. The only problem I'm having is rubbing. But even with that I only rub once or twice when I'm driving by myself. And I won't rub at all if I'm just cruising around. Now with passengers I have to be a little more careful. But it's made me realize that our roads aren't all that great

Yeah, its so dirty, that I can see white :p Looks balla....:pimp:

Ive been reading up on your threads. Dont know if anyone has posted this, since I didnt read the last few posts, before typing this. You will have rubbing isssues, if you go with spacers. You will need to stretch your tires more, so that it wont rub. Not sure what your running now, but I would suggest a 225/35or225/40 tire in the rear. To make it look equal to the front, just run 205/40 in the front. That should look good.

Your other option is to run air bags. Then you will be correct camber/toe, until you slamm it to the ground, when parked. But to each their own ;)

Keep up the good work. Nice choice in wheels
Why do you think there weren't any close-ups

I'm not sure if I would rub more or not actually. I have a 215/40 FK 452 in front and there is definately room. I can fit atleast one finger between the tire and fender easy.

The rear though might need a little more rolling or more negative camber if I was going to do spacers in the back. But I'm not sure what I'm going to do about them... I need to get my tail lights and I'm trying to get the Ugo roof spoiler for sale too! Plus I need new coilovers and blah blah blah :pissed:

I don't think air bags are in the picture though. I know nothing about them lol. And I don't really think that's my thing.. It looks great on your car though :approve: Speaking of, when are you posting more pics? Last I saw the rear wasn't all the way down.

I believe it is in degrees.
Thanks Rey

EDIT: I've had this picture for a while now, but never added it. This is after I got back from my alignment.

First off, if any of you didn't see some of my other posts.. I found out that I got the "wrong" size front wheels. Everything is right, except for the disk size. I wanted Super Low (SL) Disk for the most lip, but got Normal (LO) Disk. Kinda pissed about that, but what can I do?

But for some updates... I went through about a week of headaches trying to tint my brake light on my spoiler. A stripped screw holding the lense onto the spoiler caused WAY too many problems. Ended up having to pull the whole spoiler off, then snapped the lense and ripped the nut out of the spoiler (that the screw went into). But I got it fixed and together, I'm just not happy with the mount job I did on the spoiler, so I will be redoing it.

(this is also a BEFORE shot for the tail ligths)

And I got my tail lights today! It's been a long process, but Nick went through a lot during the time so it's understandable. I'm happy with the work he has done :approve: Nothing too fancy, just satin black housings with chrome rings.

And here is everything put together. Things finally match. Heads, fogs, tails, and emblems are all satin black, and the heads and tails have chrome rings  Oh, and the license plate bracket is satin black with chrome letters

Should I keep the front license plate frame or no? I can't decide if I like it or not..

My next mods have been somewhat put on hold, err, more the priority shifted. I think my driver side front coilover is blown. It has gotten progressively louder (clanking) and I already checked to make sure things were tight. So now I'm probably going to have to swap my stock suspension back on until I can afford new coilovers :pissed: Then I'll be back to saving for the rest of my suspension parts and spacers.

I'm gonna try to take a video of how much "rebound" there is when I push on the fender. To the eye, it is noticably more bouncy on the driver side. I'm not really sure how else to check. There wasn't any noticable leaks the other day... But I need to pin point the problem before I work on a solution (obviously!)

The new tails look great! I say you get rid of the front plate entirely :p

It looks good man. If you have a plain plate holder use it. I see you finally got your tails. +rep.

Thanks man :approve: I wasn't sure on the plate holder, so it's just been hanging out on there for like 2 weeks now lol.

Lookin sick Corey! I'm jealous of your tails :(
I'm jealous of your flushness :pissed:

Ya, they're assholes about plates here too... I hear ya man.

Looks even better with the new tails. rep when I can
Yeah I was lucky though. He didn't give me a ticket for the front plate OR my tint.

just pull the whole thing out, take the spring off and push the shock down, if it doesnt come back up its blown lol
and you REALLY REALLY REALLY need spacers, i feel like throwing up.
:p
If I pull it out won't I need to have it aligned again? If I'm doing that I want to get my Cusco A Arms finished (repainted) so I can install them at the same time then have the front realigned.

And yes. I know. I need spacers :pissed:
