That sounds correct. Just make sure you give yourself enough clearance to do the final torque. Getting those front bolts (attaching the #2 to the #1 LCA were a pain in the butt. Extra space would have made the job a lot easier. You can put a couple planks of wood under the ramps to raise them up. Just make sure they are stable. If the car comes down, there's nowhere for you to go. Be safe, and good luck.

From what I remember, I did the final torque BEFORE the red loctite had set. It was all done in a couple minutes. I never put the car back down on the ground before the final torque. I put in the bolts "snug" but not torqued, set the car down on ramps to compress the suspension, and did the final torque. I hope that clears things up.

Cont...You need to remove the compressor and refill with the correct amount of oil. A leak not just loses freon but oil too. You refill with freon and run the compressor low on oil. The compressor fails and spreads metal debris throughout the ac system. The system takes around 7-8 oz of pag oil. Once that happens you have to remove everything to clean it out. Not fun. I have done it once and it took 3 days on an easy to work on rav4. Its a good idea to replace the schrader valves while you have the system empty.

Here is a guy who has some good videos. Eric the car guy. But search youtube. There are lot of good helpful videos on how to properly diy the ac.

Hey sorry I didnt see your message earlier. There is too much info to help you in a text. But if you open the high side while the freon can is attached, it will quickly see 220 psi and explode in your face. Be careful. Considering you have lost freon from a leak you need to find the leak by refilling with a dye. Find the leak and fix it. Here is where most people stop and by next year, have to replace the whole system.
