havent done a good update in a while. I am trying to get a few hp out of the car ontop of the weight savings so i wrapped the headers. plus it will keep the underhood cooler too.
I also..
what you dont see it? For the die hard jdm freaks they will notice i had the blue tint glass before and this glass is clear...because its 1/8 lexan. I didnt do any process pics cause its so easy. take out the glass, lay it on the lexan and trace around it, cut out the lexan and sand the edges, DONE.
this is whats holding the windows up now.
simplicity at its best.
on another note my brakes still arent here....so i am putting the stock back on today and doing a fluid change and brake flush. will get the car on the scales a little later too.

Does the Lexan have any bend? Or is it stiff and flat? Can you heat gun it to add a curve to it?
you can add curve with heat. When I rolled my 4runner I made a replacement curved lexan rear side window. The key is to heat slowly and let it soak in. Lexan will boil if you get it too hot.

but it is very flexible too so you really dont have to add curve in most instances

I brought it up because my next question is, how hard is it to get into the windshield area? And is it safe? Does it shatter into sharp fragments/shards like non-coated glass?
Sorry to make this a Lexan thread, but it's semi-relevant at the moment.
Also are you going to replace any of the other glass?

Acrylic will shatter into sharp peices, polycarbonate will not. Choose materials wisely as they are both clear plastic sheet.

i am almost sure there is a maker in the US that makes a front Lexan windshield for the IS300...I THINK its percys speed glass but it might have been Clear One also. I remember AndrewW mentioning it at one point.
And no im not doing any of the other glas for now. I spent way to mych time putting in the frint and rear glass to take them out again.

ok so got the first half of my batt relocation done. also bent the brake line away from the heatshield.
Also i was insulted by the weight of the handle for the handbrake...so i lopped it off and replaced it with a peice of 1/4 x 1" aluminum that i smoothed out and polished to bling a litle.
And why am i posting this picture?
because i put my old brakes on and tourqued them and imm going to flush the whole sytem. Why? because i figure if i hook everything up them my new brakes will show up and ill have to take it all off again...thats how it works doesent it?
fingers crossed
