In regards to the top fuelers, with a sixty foot time of 0.79 sec. and zero to 100mph in 0.84 seconds, I don't think a turbo can spool up that fast. The top fuel supercharger pumps 53psi near instantly, and if you were to remove the estimated 800-900hp parastic drag, the slower 330foot from the turbo couldn't make up the difference in time towards the end from increased trap speed of the higher hp from the turbo.
How bout changing the thread to a 13.99 instead to get a bigger list and also some cars with less money dumped into them. This way we can see real results from some of the stage 1 kits and SC cars and so forth?

Well lets be honest 13's is not fast at all these days. Not to mention their are plenty of IS's that were down this year b/c of one thing or another that will be prepared for '06 season and surely make the list or improve on their spot. The list is not to see what stage 1 kit is the best or outperforms another etc., its to find the fastest IS's period and I personally think the 12.99 is already being generous. Not only that but after searching, theres hardly very many in the 13's either so the list would not grow much. If a number of others agree with you I'll be happy to start digging up info.

Let's be honest... 13's IS fast for an is300. There is only 14 cars on the list, it's far from generous. It wouldn't be a turbo comparison thread, although if it did inadvertantly do that, it wouldn't be a bad thing. Why bother listing mods with cars already on the list? Of course we like to know HOW and WHAT it took to make our otherwise slow car fast. 13's is indeed a big deal for an is300, and it should be recognized. I myself wouldn't collect the data, but people would post the data within this thread. Many many other forums do this with a huge list, and it really does help put in perspective what it takes to acheive a certain performance level with the car. I think not having this on this forum removes the possibilty for greater knowledge which is what this site is all about. Now that I think about it, it should go all the way up to 14.99.

I'll be honest, i run faster on the street. I logged the runs and my 0-100 is about .5sec or better when i run on the street. i hate the freekin dragstrip. i don't know what the problem is.

Very good 60 foot for street tires, what tires exactly are you running in the rear?
Did you only do one run, or did you do a few runs where this one was the best?
114mph seems low for 480whp, are your settings the same as your dyno run #'s?
meh, i really toned it back and was shifting pretty early. I remember looking at one log and I shifted at ~6k in 3rd. I just hate the 1/4 track and it seems so abusive. this particular track is a real POS so I don't want anything to go wrong at some drag strip. i'll likely go back and run it hard w/ c16 and put down something more interesting. all my runs were similar from 12.4 - 12.9 w/ the 60ft and my shift point being the deciding factor.
i'm running kumho victoracers, so it's not an average street tire.
fixed and congrats on a new best, maybe find a cheap 5spd rear and get a little taller gearing..Like I said ways back even if I had an auto I would swap over to a 3.72 5spd rear..

i'm just gonna put c16 in it and ball it out and see what happens. i mean i hit 104 in 3rd if i run it out so i lose a little on that shift like .4sec but no biggie.
