Exactly what are the stock spark plugs ?

I am gonna be changing my plugs tonight after work. I'm gonna pick up the plugs fom Autozone, and I have been looking at my options using the Autozone website. I see the NGK lx Iridium plugs along with other plugs available. Are the platinum plugs just as good ? There seems to be a few dollar difference between the iridum and platinum plugs. I am only looking for the stock plugs. I am not looking for any performance upgrade plugs.. only want what was stock. Can anyone tell me what exactly are the stock plugs ? Thanks

Let us know how it went. How many miles did you have on your car prior to changing plugs? I've read through the directions and it seems pretty complicated. I still haven't decided if I will do it myself or take it to a shop. I'll probably do it myself, but keep putting it off.

tomjh99 : Greetings fellow Newbie! This is my first post and although I seem to be a day late, I hope the information proves useful as a reference point. While acquainting myself with this forum, I came across several posts containing links and websites of great value to IS enthusiasts such as ourselves.

Among them was the following address - www.toyodiy.com. It's a beta site for Toyo DIY (Do-it-yourself). Among the many features of this site are a Parts Reference guide wherein you can locate information relevant to your very Lexus IS300.

GO TO www.toyodiy.com
CLICK ON "Select your car" (toward the middle of the page)
ENTER your VIN (or proceed to Option 2)
CLICK ON Model Code under Search Results (at the bottom of the page)

For Spark Plugs, you would then...

CLICK ON Engine / Fuel
CLICK ON 1 : Ignition Coil & Spark Plug

You will now see a complete pictorial with relevant identifiers for the entire system. The diagram is helpful whenever DIY so check it out. The Spark Plug is Lexus Part No. 19100P, 90919 - 01219, 2JZGE..JCE10; SK16R-P11. 2JZGE is your Engine Type. SK16R-P11 is bascially a Denso Iridium Long-Life plug.

Hope it goes well!

UPDATE : I found the post containing the website address provided above and I wanted to give credit where credit was due. Thanks go to EStoIS.
