What are the best mods under...$$$

Hey folks,

I thought this would be neat and good info for a lot of IS300 newbs.

In your opinion, what is the best mod under...

1) $25
2) $50
3) $100
4) $250
5) $500

Let's hear it, 1-5!

EDIT: This is not really for me, I'm just asking because I'm curious about what YOU would say in YOUR preference. If YOU had each amount to spend on a mod what would YOU buy? IF... YOU... thought it was acceptable to mod YOUR car. :-)

Not true. There are plenty of options.

1-2 should be merged into less than $50. Examples would be LED interior/exterior lights, shift knob, squash air freshener, resuable interior air filter or shorty antenna.

3-4 should be merged into less than $200. Examples would be 03 SD grill, dark chrome tail lights, tint, some springs, dash tray, dynamat, new lugs for nice rims, intake (but mostly not a performance improvement mod and more aesthetic), reusable air intake filter, strut bars or oem style spoiler.

5, there are plenty of options.

depends on your personal preference...the best thing to do is to decide what you want and simply save up money for it.

Exactly.

Cheap mods just bring the car down. Cheap lights and grille when the car has expensive ones to begin with? WTF is the point? Different for the sake of different doesn't make the car better. Use a cheaper part than what's on it stock, and you make it worse.

Try waxing it and maintaining it perfectly instead. Only use the best oil, and do extra maintenence if you want to spend little money that'll actually add value to your car. Save your money and get good tires. A decent set of tires for the IS300 with 17" rims is still almost $1000 dollars.

Easy there sportx brother....it's just an entry level "luxury" car.

And the point is to customize the way you want it to look like. Who gives a fuck if certain parts are cheap. If it looks good then it looks good.

My point is why DOWNGRADE your car to look different?

Why not maintain it perfectly or do something worthwhile, instead of counterproductive?

Why buy a nice car to begin with if you're going to tack on cheap junk?

Just buy a cheaper car and add better parts to it. At least then you'll be modding up, instead of down.

It's a common trend for people to buy a car, and then ruin it with replica parts, cut holes in it, melt the fenders, put cheap wheels, destroy the handling, luxury and functionality of the car. I don't comprehend the backward mentality that causes people to do such ridiculous things to an otherwise good car. If you're going to change something, why make it WORSE instead of better? It just doesn't make sense!

It's called customizing to ones liking! Brother....take a chill pill. Who wants to have the same looking car as everyone else? That's why people mod their cars to be different from everyone else. That's what this forum is about...getting ideas on how to make your car different. You just don't get it....and obviously never will. To each of their own.

Cheers,
Josh

Sheesh, this wasn't how I figured it'd turn out.

If you like to keep your car stock, that's wonderful! I love the stock look, but I also like MY look. Just because one asks doesn't mean they plan to molest their Lexus. I'm not even asking for myself in specific, just a general question for people to answer in their own unique preference. So yes, there are many preferences as well, but I want to know yours. That is all.

Just because you're only spending $25 on a mod doesn't make it "cheap". I think adding LED light bulb in place of the stock bulbs for your license plate or dome light etc is a great mod, that adds greater benefit just apart from a cool look. And yes, prices vary - they don't have to be exact ... just - have fun with it... it's not difficult people :-)

this will highly depend on what someone is looking for. If you are going for looks than you will spend completely different than someone looking for better performance.
