I just did this and it didnt work, any suggestions? Did i possibly cut the wrong wire? There is one labeled 11, so i cut the one right next to it, it was the very last wire on the far side of the plug, right next to number 11, but nothing? Ant thoughts or suggestions or does anyone have a good picture of it?
I havent done the steering wheel part of it, but did you send the wire to ground?
I see what i did wrong, theres two plugs that look almost identical, one on each side of the steeringwheel. I orignally cut the one on the passager side of the wheel, but your supposed to cut the one on the drivers side plug. After i did that it worked beautifully!!!
Has anyone had any difficulties or problems doing the fog-only mod? I want to be able to have my fogs only on, I don't really care about when I high-beam, the instructions are simple it just seems a little unsafe to me, wrapping a live wire around your ignition fuse and then just plugging it back in. Any comments?

No part of the wire is exposed, unless you strip waaay too much off. I haven't had any problems for a while now and I dont see how its any more troublesome than not doing it, especially if you take the 5 minutes it takes to do it right.

It's been done to my car for almost 5 years now.
It's unsafe if you do it like you're missing a chromosome.
You can use an add-a circuit and it will clean it up.
If you don't feel that it's safe enough, find a new way of doing it...following the same logic.
If you don't understand the logic though, you're out of luck.

How much is the fog relay that you have to bend the prong cost? Can it be put back to normal if you want to go back to stock I've seen a couple price quotes on here. I may attempt it one night this week, I can probably find all the stuff in my house and my dad might have an add-a-circuit, I've never seen one of those. So basically you should just attach the wire from the relay prong around to the ignition fuse, will other fuses work? Sorry, I'm kind of apprehensive about this, my cig lighter fuse blew about 7 times when installing a switch for my sub/amp before I realized there was a dime stuck in the outlet under the armrest, thx for the help

I've done this mod in 12 minutes. You've probably spent much more time thinking this over.
Essentially you are taking a small relay, connecting a single wire to it and putting it back in it's original space. You then run that wire about 6 inches away and plug it in.
It's not difficult. You should not be concerned. If you are, you should really have someone do it for you.

No, it seems very simpler... I'm just mostly concerned about voiding any warranty I might have and f'ing up the relay and or breaking the prong and not being able to put it back to stock eventually. Sophie, did you plug it back into the ignition fuse?

It's just a relay. They aren't expensive. At most you're gonna spend 30 bucks for one retail.
No, I didn't stick it in the ignition fuse. I used a mini-add-a-circuit and used the drivers side window fuse. It's your choice though.
You really need to stop asking about this and just go do it.
I really don't consider this a mod anymore. I see this as something rivaling the DRL disable "mod"
If you're concerned about voiding your warranty, you shouldn't be trying to mod your car. Just drive it and enjoy it.

Ok, thanks, I'll probably attempt it this week if i can get my hands on an "add a circuit" The DRL disable just requires unplugging so that one doesn't concern me, can be re-plugged in (good word), this requires bending and a little more intrusive work, my IS is my baby so I'm cautious about w/e I do, but thanks for the advice. You can use any fuse that is running when the car is turned on is that right?

i'm like you, it took me 2 years before i had the guts to do this to my car, which i did last weekend thanks to help from de my kit is the cleanest you can get to an oem like install. completely reversible, too
Ya philly, if your worried about some things then just buy chados kit, everything is all there ready for you to do it and at $12 shipped i say why not.

Chado, im guessing it took you like 15 min total, right? The only thing I don't have is the add a circuit and I guess the fuse, I'll pick one up next time I'm out but if I get lazy I'll just get the kit from you (good idea, but I admit, for lazy a-holes). How did you make it completly reversible, I guess that is my main concern, the bending of the prong has to be done, there is no way to do it w/o bending it. Lemme know if you did it any differently from the tutorial, and where you plugged in the fuse to. Thanks man
