Paint Hood/Car with chalkboard paint opinions

Wanted to get people's opinion of painting either my hood, or if that goes well my entire car with black chalkboard paint. I've only seen one car with it done to it's hood at a show last year and it looked pretty good there. Basically my paint's in pretty bad shape, and I'm tired of having to open my hood to feel good about my car.

I eventually plan to get the whole car repainted, but that's down the road a bit, I just rebuild my engine which set me back about $3 grand, and plan to boost it before getting it painted so I'm looking for something I can do myself that'll have it looking ok for the year or two till I get a professional repaint.

Why don't you just cover it with that mat black vinyl stuff like people are doing now. If it's just the look you want. The good thing it can be removed when it's time to paint or if you get tired of it. I think it's pretty cheap if you do it yourself. But if you really want people to write on the car then that's different.

That's different. I never thought it's possible to use chalkboard paint.

I vote for a matte black vinyl wrap. Chalk is cool a trailer queen car but I don't think it is for a daily driver
