seriously though. I was going to start a thread on brake dust
build-up on the new IS, but stumbled upon this just beforehand.

I drove approx. 200 miles this week. Started the week with very clean wheels, by Wednesday they were getting dark, and by the time I got to washing them again today...they were black! I spent way too much time cleaning my fronts this afternoon. Especially given the little time I spent in the car for the week!!!

yep....i know man....the pad compound is really soft on this car......best thing i can tell you to do is use a normal body polish on the wheels ....and then they will just rince off easy.......one tec uses toothpaste like polish and he say the dust dosent stick much.....

yep....just like using toothpaste on the mirros in the bathroom so they dont fog......

I think the dust is due to the "high friction" pads. Pad life is also said to be shorter. We probably just have to live with it till someone comes out with dustless aftermarket pads.
