Royal Purple Transmission and Differential Oil ROCKS!!
Over the weekend, with CEB's help, I was finally able to change my Transmission and Differential oil to Royal Purple Synthetic oil. The change was surprisingly easy, although a bit messy. For those of you who want to save some change, I definitely recommend that you do this your self.
Anyway, I feel a BIG difference in performance now, with the new oil. It's really unbelievable how big of a difference RP oil has made. First, my shifts are much smoother, (still hard because I have B&M), and the car feels a lot smoother as well. But best of all, it seems like the car runs really strong even with a little amount of gas. I can feel that there's less friction in transmission which allows the car to maintain its momentum. Usually letting the gas go slows the car down significantly, but not anymore! It keeps going and going! It feels like Bawoozer(sp?) in Mario kart, but of course with nimbleness and acceleration of Mushroom. I can definiltey understand why people say they save gas mileagae when they upgrade their tranny oil to synthetic oil...
One drawback? I have to use the breaks a lot more, because the car just won't slow down easy.
This is a must do, go fast mod everybody. Do it ASAP. I am pretty sure I gained some HP as well..I feel it. The car feels much stronger..
Product: Royal Purple Max Gear
Weight/Viscosity: I used 75w90 for both differential and transmission.
Amount: Approximately 1.5 quarts go in to differential and 3.5 quarts go into transmission. I bought 5 quarts of oil, and I ended up using about 4.5 of it.
Store: www.rpmoil.com Great website, with great customer service and knowledge. Great price and free shipping. I think i spent about $9 per bottle there. 1 bottle = 1 quart

Nice. I haven't used the Royal Purple fluids but I do use Redline. I noticed the same kind of differance when I switched also. The other bonus is if you track the car it will handle the heat better, too. Enjoy.

I drive a Toyota/Lexus Parts bin: Sequoia 4x4 driveshaft, Supra TT trans, LS400 throttle body, etc., ...
is there any write-ups on how to do these yourself? i searched and found only 15 results (one of which is a post from monkeypee)...but none of them really says how to do it...
I bought mine from www.rpmoil.com great website, fast shipment, great customer support w/ knowledge and of course great price! I think I bought mine for less than $6/qt and free shipping too.
I also looked for installation thread, because i could have sworn i saw a thread with pics on it, but couldn't find it..
But here's a thread with one dude giving description of how to do it..

I've heard that Oreilly Auto Parts carries RP. Might want to check there if you have one in your area.
I swapped out to redline and the stuff is great. For E-Shift people tho, stick with the Toyota tranny fluid, it's specially formulated, and the manual says to only use the Toyota stuff in the auto trannies.
ok heard it all today, Lexus service rep said the manual transmission and differential fluids require an additive when replacing. Dont think so, so I will have to make sure they do not put anything else in there aside from the RP when they do the services.
I would do it myself but I have been so busy I cannot find the damn time, not to mention they are doing it all for less than $50 labor, cant beat that!!! (oh yeah my radio is also fcuked, so that is getting replaced at the same time).

Ya, I think RPMoil already has some LSD needed stuff in it, so you do'nt need to add that extra shit. One of the side effects not having that additive is noise, but I'm not hearing any additonal noise, so I think it's good.
