they all give some kind of hp increase but you can barely feel the difference. i wouldnt just get some ebay intake though, id feel safer with a name-brand haha.

^ Word. I'd say go with the FIPK2, they're so dirt cheap new now on eBay. I've been looking for one lately and found them for about 230 shipped from eBay. Great deal in my opinion, unless you want the polished look of the Injen.

intakes a good increase when you pair it with other NA mods, headers & exhaust. people say exhaust is for sound too but put an exhaust and intake on and i think you'd feel the difference.
Bezik777 why go with the 239 dollar one when joez and drop in is 167

Intake Wrap?

Ok so I have tried using the search system but for some reason everytime I click on the link to the thread it sends me directly to googles homepage. So I had to ask the question here.

Can I use header wrap to wrap my intake? Will it help reduce heat soak at all? Does it keep out heat (what I want it to do) or only keep it in (what it does on headers)?

Thanks

-Derek

^ You could use it to wrap your intake but it won't do much if anything. Its mostly done on turboed cars to keep the turbo heats from heating up your intercooler air.

You're saying it wont keep it any cooler at all? Then what's all the hype about wrapping your headers if it doesnt work?

You could wrap your headers but again, this is only really done to boosted cars. It probably will keep it cooler, but don't exempt any real gains...

The idea of wrapping the intake is the total opposite of the idea of wrapping the headers. In the headers you want to keep the heat in and not in the engine bay. This also increases velocity which increases HP. Wrapping the intake keeps the hot air out and keep intake air cold as possible(acting as insulation). As Jeremy said, it's mainly seen on boosted applications.

Ok well from what I've read it won't hurt so I am just going to do it. I didn't want to wrap my headers because I read a lot about the weld spots cracking. I have a project that I'm planning to increase some cold air flow so the wrap might help just a tad. I am going to drill a hole in the engine bay and connect a hose from the hole to the opening next to the right foglight. This way the intake is getting hit directly with colder air. It may give me very minimal gains or none at all but it sounds like a good idea to me so I'm going for it haha.

^^ cus julian is going for good looks under the hood also, hence the k&n and not the Joe-z where it keeps everything looking stock.
