not really my style color choices for the hose but those can easily be replaced at any autoparts store for about $5.

also I keep hearing bad things about IS's with oil type filters, check into the dry type by AEM or AFE
my IS is SY so no prob on the color lol

No, you need the ecu mod for the intake, because the pipe diameter is too large and will throw a CEL.

I have the K&N FIPK in my IS and it is slick... Sounds great when accelerating, looks good under the hood. Installation kit came with everything and great instructions plus it comes with a nice heat shield. It also gave pretty awesome gains on the dyno... Got one online for 230 brand new

It shouldn't damage the engine to have too much air, but it will run poorly and hurt your performance, so there's no point in installing one without the other.

yea, they all can make a distinct noise, but noticeable real hp gains, you're looking at next to nothing-6,7 tops and that's with SRT's stupidly expensive intake with R-Ecu. Even the stock one provides no difference in loss, it's been proven, even though my intake was a K&N. You need a intake plus exhaust makeover to see any slight change. You can go with a 150 shot as well and do cams

You could just run a SAFCII or something of that nature to tune the SRT or any intake , end result will be better then the non tuneable RECU anyways...

But the SRT with the race ecu is so expensive... why not just save up some more money and get a piggy back like the Greddy Ultimate or the AEM... then you have actual customizability rather than something that is designed for every IS300...

k&n cone air filter alone newB!

Sorry if this has been discussed already but im still new to building up my car, I actually just got myself an HKS super drager 2 exhaust and now ima trying to move onto the intake itself. I was told to just get the cone air filter, can someone tell me the diff between the full intake and the cone by itself? Will the cone by itself do anything? srry again if its been discussed already

Where do you get the ecu mod from?

If you are talking about the one for the SRT intake, it comes with the intake when you purchase it. Not too sure if they sell it separate. You can always go on SRT's website to check. If you just have any other intake than you can just get the Apexi Safc or a full standalone. Some of our vendors should carry those.
