I didn't see it referenced above, so I'll ask.
What information is out there for the best fitting header without leaks?
I'm more interested in a header that is easy to live with, than the amount of power it makes.

Best bet is to weld. If you don't want to do that then apply red gasket maker for a solid seal. Use new gaskets as well. Always make sure to re-tighten your flange bolts every 6 months or so. I heard that mixing oem headers to after Y or vice versa well lead to major leaks.

When you say use new gaskets, what is your opinion on OEM gaskets? I am thinking about just doubling up on the gaskets to get a tighter seal. I can't seem to find any aftermarket gaskets worth while.. I have a Toyomoto header and megan y-pipe. From what I read, the fitment isn't going to be great and I am just wondering if a couple gaskets and gasket sealer will work?

You can search locally some muffler shops will make gaskets for you (the good ones) or they may know a place....

OEM can work also ....Get them tight (exhaust flange bolts)and check them once in a while, they like to come loose..

Its not that the filemant is bad its that the pipe diameters are different and megans run bigger then the rest for the most part and with that said one pipe diameter increased then the other over short amount of time the exhaust preasure will blow out the gaskets (most on the bottom) due to the difference....Ill try and look up tubing diameter differances and will post it ...

I am currently using OEM gaskets with mine and sealed it up with the gasket maker. Been solid so far (knock on wood).

Haha k good to know. Question though, if I took both my y-pipe and headers to a friends to weld before my install, how easy would the headers and y-pipe (as one piece) slide into place.. if at all?
