How many did you use? I have the mazzuri headers and am getting CEL as well. With the mazzuri 2 o2's are plugged and 2 are not.....will I still get CEL's if I use 2 and leave 2 unplugged?

I don't know what to tell you about the Mazzuri's... I have alphawerks and all of my o2 sensors are used. but I have two sensors with defoulers on them (the one on the y-pipe and the one on the bottom of the header on the passenger side).

I've had this on my car for about 20k miles so far with no problems. I had to use two long ones at each bank. Learned this for an old member named LadyVenom, she only had use 1 short one at each bank.

I don't have a pic but when I put in my headers after a lot of research (searching and what not) there are 4 o2 sensors, 2 of them which go AFTER the cat. If I'm right, you will need to use 1 defouler on the y-pipe and the another defouler on passenger side o2 sensor (there should be 2 in the same pipe, the 2nd one is the one after the cat) Again I am just guessing because this is what I plan to do with mine, for those who have done it please chime in

I didn't have to drill the defoulers.... The new ones that are out are a perfect fit. I put one on the Y-Pipe and one on the bottom passenger side header. If it will help, I will post pics tomorrow.... I'm too tired to go and jack up the car tonight.

I just found out tonight that my first cat is bad, the one on cylinders 1,2,3. I need help with what to do. I live in a NON emissions state, so is it possible to buy an aftermarket header and have it bolt right up to existing stock exhaust system. Does aftermarket header do away with cats alltogether and from there it bolts up to the rest of the exhaust. If i replace just the cat is there a universal cat that anybody recommends? I would love to get rid of the cats with a header and do this defouler mod. If there is anybody on here with experience with this and wouldn't mind talking to me on the phone please let me know. My IS is my primary vehicle and right now it is down, and i need to figure out a fix for it immediately. thanks

Where did you get your defoulers? I bought mine from autozone help section for 2 bucks, not willing to pay 25 bucks for each online that are already drilled

If you were to get a header and y pipe combo, it eliminates ALL cats... If you just buy an aftermarket header, it will get rid of the two cats that are on your header. It will also bolt up to your stock y pipe and give you a fairly decent sound, but it will also leak a little bit because your stock y pipe isn't exactly flat like the aftermarket header will be where the two connect. so there will be a slight gap between the two. U will still have the one cat that is on your stock y pipe as well.

I went to my closest speed shop (Jotech) and purchased them. I paid like 15 bucks for both of them.

Has anyone tried these with the mazzuri headers? I'm not sure it will work because one is used on the sensor on the y pipe, the mazzuri header doesn't use that one. I'll try it in 2 weeks when I get my car back( I was a hit and run victim) if nobody beats me to it.I will post pics and keep you all updated.
