I think it's worth the price since it has cats on it. It's a direct OE replacement and it's a name you can trust.

I put his header in as a stock replacement and I can give my impression. The build quality was actually quite bad...ugly welds and not that straight. If you gain any significant power then your factory cat(s) was clogged. It did come with all new quality gaskets. I did an accelerometer based test that did indicate improvement, but whether thats from replacing bad cats or actually from the header is unknown. Like other headers for the IS, there is just no awesome gains with this car.

I would buy it again, because frankly there arent any other good options to remain emissions compliant. I found it online for $435 shipped to my door. An o2 sim and megan header will cost nearly the same and probably leak.

Imo EVERYONE driving around on the street should run at least run one cat. I dont want to breathe stank ass emissions so you can have +3hp on a 3200lb sedan.

The price is NOT that bad. Magnaflow make awesome products, its not ebay garb.

Also, have you seen the price of headers for VQ35's, E46 M3's, LSx's?

Awesome for posting this, I have been looking at these headers for a while now with nothing but questions about them. Here in ontario we too must take emissions tests and I dont want to be doing header swap outs just to take the bloody test. Good one they look nice!

I was looking into the Magnaflow header too and came across this post. Looks like my cats are starting to fail on me. These header/cats are 49-state legal except for CA. WTH, has anyone tried to smog with this in CA?

Oh and there not magnaflow high flow cats in there, they are designed to be pre cats to keep check engine light off which means larger brick and smaller holes in said brick. The tubular design is nice but with those cats on there not much gain a real magnaflow high flow cat has a 4 long brick with large holes almost guaranteed to get a CEL I know because I install them all the time at work. But if youre happy Im happy for ya.
