Dezod "Green" Header Review

This Review is completely my impressions , observations and kept completely non bias enthusiast opinions and views w/dyno proof.

To start Dezods packaging skills are very good to make sure no damage could take place . everything was taped off and arrived 100% as expected.

First seeing the product i was very impressed with the quality of the set up and the materials used . Top notch in my book (I'm picky) Welds look awesome , tubing construction/lay out are dead on. Love the fact Dezod added the flex joint in y-pipe..

Install: Being the first to test products, this is always something you think about and hope that it goes as planned (smooth) . Which I'm pleased to say Install was VERY smooth and everything fit very well . (Ive installed 6+ different header set ups) This one by far was the easiest !
Out with the heavy constriction OEM headers and y pipe.

Comparison of OEM header and Dezod "green" Header
OEM heavy - dezod surprisingly light

Quality

V-bands made for a very quick install and tight non leaking set up ... unlike pesky headers of the past .

Installed (Engine bay side) plenty of room and good o2 sensor placement. Very clean look.

Everything buttoned up top side ..

Under car Install very straight forward , Only thing i had to alter was a trans line was pretty close to rubbing .

Line moved just a tad.

Final torque down.

Install complete.......

I would like to first thank DSMDuDE (nick) for letting me use his car for install and dyno testing..

Huge thanks to Late Model Throttle in Waukesha WI for the use of their facility's , Awesome guys there for all your Go fast needs and tuning..

Car Specs 2003 IS300 Auto
Mods
-AEM Intake
-ESPELIR JGT axle back (stock b pipe)
-VB upgrade w/trans cooler
thats it rest of car is STOCK........

Please Note that the CATS do need brake in period of 10-15 Min's then let cool down then drive ....keeps the integrity and longevity of the cats....Which should be done every time you install new cats on anything.

We are ready to go .......

First start up (we broke the cats in) video

Let the car cool off under the fans.......
......
....
..
.

We ran a few base line dynos

All runs where on a DynoJet AWD Dyno!
Base line avg - + 160 max power - 174 max torque
Add 15% to numbers

We made over a dozen runs with Dezod "green" Header installed
Sound/exhaust note I was very surprised on how clean the exhaust note was . Very distinct exotic sound and very smooth .....NO rasp was heard !
Note : Testing was done with Stock b pipe which is very well know to keep exhaust sound levels down. I can tell you by putting aftermarket or deleted resonator exhaust sound levels will raise and should be very throaty but refined respectable clean sounding notes that will turn heads with quality sound not just loud exhaust ....Quality being the key word.

Now on to what everyone has been waiting for Video and Gains...

With all our runs and with the cars (stock) ecu learning the numbers kept getting better .......

Final Numbers

After reviewing the numbers we saw a gain of 12 RWHP and 14 Max Torque
+ 15% for dyno
and our numbers kept getting better every pull - so safe to say +15 RWHP and +15 TQ and =25 HP at Crank with full ecu re learn.....Note this was with an Auto w/ minimal Mods, so manuals will see slightly better numbers due to drivetrain - +
Graph lines on Dyno were very smooth with no spikes nor falls ...+++

So we were very pleased with the out come as were the guys at LMT!

Drive home.....
The new found power of the add on was very noticeable ..responsivness and acceleration felt improved . Held power better higher in the rpm band but over all power increase felt constant.
Exhaust note was very smooth and clean ...(very tuned sounding)
Butt dyno approved !

All in all I'm highly impressed and If i was Na Id recommend this header over all the rest of the past ones . No head aches with gaskets . leaks , o2 sensor bung relocating , snug installs , rasp and exhaust note quality...

Last shout outs .....

Paul at Dezod for most for yet again making a quality part that will serve our community as a dependable high quality performance add on that shows it from every aspect .....
Dezod Motorsports Inc-We ARE performance. Scion tC turbo pros!

Nick for being the best tool runner he could be and loaning me his car for the night of testing ....

Late Model Throttle for letting me tie up their dyno for hours Great guys there!
Late Model Throttle - Wisconsin Dyno Tuning - Home

And lastly for the IS300 family , you are a huge part of what keeps me going as a true enthusiast ...Great cars even better friends which are made ....

Hope this helps many people in whatever choices you make for your car . I try ed to honestly and truthfully review this product for the good of the community ....If you have any questions that you feel i can answer feel free to PM ME....

It was a great night ...................

First to post

Testing looks like it went well, and gains were within my expectations.

Damn. Beat me. Very good review Tom. I can attest to all of Tom's information as I was there the whole time. I have some videos of my own to post and some dyno charts.

I would also like to first thanks Tom for giving me the opportunity to be apart of this. Dezod for their great quality built header system. Late Model Throttle for letting us have use of their shop and dyno all night. LMT is a stand up shop for anything and top notch tuners!
