Bad news, the CEL error is in fact causing a lack in power and slight hesitation around 4000 rpm.

I don't get it. Shouldn't the wiring from the combo meter to the ECU fix this? What am I missing?

I'll try to scan the code tonight

I'm also experienced a very strange vibration throughout the car which I fear may be drivetrain related. I need to swap the tires to ensure its not a seperated tire issue but I don't think it is.

Maaaan I just want this car to be done! I want my Sedan back!!!

Thats interesting. I can't be for sure but that to me sounds like a map sensor. Like my thread said all my cel where transmission related until I changed my ecu to a manual then I had only one cel for speed sensor. That is where I wired a13 from combo meter to b11 on the ecu, eliminating all cels. I have driven the car for months now with no cel or any other vibration or hesitation problems. Good luck migs and let us know what it comes up with.

I guess I'll probably have to take the dash out after looking at that trans cover piece. I suppose this is an excuse to clean it and get rid of all that gummy peeling film.
I did the same thing replaced mine just before. I wish I would have waited would of saved a little money on expensive Toyota coolant, and could have changed to a manual tensioner. Oh well it's all a learning experience. Good luck on your tunnel conversion and take lots off pics for the thread.

Make sure the shims(thick washers) that go between the body of the car and the driveshaft center support bearing were installed. Otherwise it will cause vibration.

nah, it really wasn't complicated at all. Especially when there's a thread with directions like this!

So I figured things out. Turns out the ECU pin I added to the harness wasn't an exact match, and although it did fit in the tiny hole, it didn't allow the locking plate to fully click back into place....thus throwing codes for the TPS.

I pulled a pin from the harness that runs a wire that's A/T specific and put it where it needs to be. Don't know why I didn't just do that in the first place haha

Car runs great, but there is still a CEL on, and it's for the O2 sensor as I thought it was. No biggie.

Last thing I need to do is figure out the vibration, and all signs point to the driveshaft. Thanks for the head's up Snake. I'm sure I'll figure it out.

check your pm Curran

Yeah I bet you get lots of snow in Canada, I told you about those damn pins! They have to be on there tight. Alvaro wired up his snow button on his swap, so it's on my to do list, I just finished a full audio job on the car that took a good week, now I have time to care about the snow button. I will post the info once I'm done.

I updated the post with the trac/snow button, pretty simple, picture courtesy of solidsnake. **update, so using my old pwr/snow button from the automatic, i never put together that when you hit the pwr button it has a memory so next time you start the car it already has it pushed. So once i put turned it into my trac/snow button it now retians trac off after i turn off the car. I remembered token solutions made something to do this very thing, and who do i see as the first review? migs himself! There you go a free memory trac off button.*****

How does this effect you when you have to smog the car? I have always wondered that.

That is a good question, Lots of people seem to think that you will fail. But i dont have a check engine light, and as long as my emission are okay i dont think i should have a problem. Worse case senerio i would have to get it reffed but even that shouldnt be a problem, because i used the manual ecu and all related parts. But i dont think it will come to that. I Just checked with my mechanic friend who has his smog certificate. He says i wont have a problem as long as check engine light is off.

TRAC/SNOW connector part number 90980-10933.
Emissions shouldn't be an issue as long as the correct ECU is used. Mine has all the monitors complete and no codes.

So I've been extremely busy and extemely sore this past weekend converting my O2' sedan from auto to manual, I decided to go with a V160 with thoughts of going boost in the future and i must say thanks Brandon for making this write up and for always returning my calls/texts!...YES this write up will work with a V160/161 if anyone is curious or thinking wether it works, wiring and all! of course I ran into a few snags like finding the correct ECU pin for B11 going from the gauge cluster (PITA) and little petty stuff but the most important thing is NO CEL's!!!

The car drives awesome, as if it came from the factory as a manual to begin with! the v160 is a monster, sounds beefy, feels beefy I'm not quite sure how to explain it...it feels like a manly transmission! it put a smile on my face the moment I took it out for the first test drive...another cool thing is cruise control works like a charm the only thing i will reiterate from other v160 swaps is gearing is WAY TO SHORT (for me anyway) with the stock differential (i have a 3.72)...I'm going to have to look into fixing this issue later on perhaps.

BTW I figured out my squeal Brandon...it was the front inspection cover i installed it incorrectly (up side down) lol...dont ask me how i managed to do that but after i flipped it correctly...VOILA! squeal was history.

I also found a leak from the rear of the transmission during my first test drive and traced it down to the rear shaft seal luckily I bought the seal before hand when i was in the process of collecting parts and replaced the seal (no more leaks!)...ounce again THANKS DUDE FOR ALL YOUR HELP! we'll have to meet up some day and discuss the many reasons why you should go boost!
