I was wondering if the IS 250/350 has a Timing Belt or Timing Chain? I called 2 dealers in my state and they each had a different answer. One said it was definitely a timing belt and the other one said it has a timing chain. I'm so confused... Does anyone know for sure?
Ha ha Acura is the only one that still uses outdated timing belt... coming from my experience I had some issue with that timing belt. Even Infiniti G35/37 uses timing chain...
What's so outdated by use of timing belt? So Ferrari F360 is an outdated POS among other numerous vehicles from Audi/VW, Lexus, Toyota, Honda, Acura.... When changed on time and properly maintained there should be no major differences between timing belt and a timing chain.
Easiest way to confirm what you have is to look at the engine, if its got plastic covers on the front of the engine its most likely belt, if its metal to the front of the engine with no covers then its chain.
