Not impressed with you making 120 post in like fours years either Where are these idiots coming from ......bringing this site down.
Here's a suggestion....How about sit down, STFU, make a contributional post once and a while, try not to get banned, and you might find the site to beneficial and informative.....

Eh, coz it's confusing when the car will downshift for you making you not sure what gear the car is really in. It's slow and laggy too.
I swear that's hard on your tranny to use the eshift for engine braking isn't it? That's what my shop guy told me. Maybe i just misunderstood him though.

I dunno, he just told me it was. Maybe it has something to do with trowing the revs up and bringing down the car's mass to a slower speed. Can anyone clarify this?

Done at reasonable speeds and RPM it's not going to hurt anything. The shift from 6 to 5, slow down a little and shift to 4 does a good job of slowing down and is quite reasonable at urban speeds 35 -55 mph. If the RPM is such that it's going to over rev, it won't shift anyway.
If you notice, the car downshifts itself as it coasts down anyway. You can feel it and you can see the gears changing on the view screen. It's not as effective as using the paddles, but it is happening.

Barkat, do you or anyone else downshift into first gear while coming up to a stop sign/light? I usually don't dshift much more than into 2nd, while rolling to a stop. Once fully stopped I'll through it in first and HANG ON!
