Actually re-badging is ok in some cases too, like if you want to go for the JDM look but use the badges from the same car, just JDM version.
meh,
i still think thats too overdone. i know people here put altezza badges on their car and "to each their own" but its a totally different cat then the lexus is300.
1) different engine
2) RHD
3) some different body panels
its almost like the audi deal i was talkin abotu before when people put s4 on their a4. they look the same almost but with a different engine and some body differences.
the poorest attempt I've seen lately at rebadging is a 98 325 with the M// symbol placed in front of the 325. I'll give him credit though, he did have the sideskirts.

I saw an old z3 with an M3 badge on the back and sides
hmm I'm going to rebadge my IS350, Ima swap the Lexus L for a beamer badge and move the "I" from IS behind the 350. I'll be the first owner of the new BMW 350i. And I can feel like I'm driving the "ultimate driving machine" I wonder what they are gonna say when I take my car in for warranty.... =P
Back in the day it was "nosing and decking". Take off the hood ornament and the rear badges and trunk handle, if there was one. Remove any and all chrome, and even the door handles if you wanted to be really cool. The holes were filled with solder or body putty, sanded smooth, and painted . A cheap way to get a "customized" look.
Then there was the other school of people who would put on big hood ornaments, big hubcaps, big whip antennas an mud flaps, preferrably the ones with little red lights on them.

The Altezza Gita and Sportcross are pretty much the same car so a few Gita badges sprinkled about won't do any harm? Right?
Good looking out. Looks like Lexus doesn't want posers around, Here are a few posers I have seen...
Audi A4 with an S4 badge... too bad the side skirts were not S4, neither was the grill
SL500 with SL55 badging... Good attempt, even had the //amg rear bumper, quad exhausts, and taillights, but was lacking the BBKs on all 4 corners, and had the SL500 front bumper.
S500 on a S320... Yea, this guy was middle eastern... The S320 is about 8" shorter than a 500, but he was trying to pull it off like it was a 500.
I've seen more. This seems to be a growing trend in the valley.
DON'T DEBADGE YOUR CAR. BE PROUD OF WHAT YOU OWN.
Let me tell you a little something about the S class...
The S320 and S500 both exist in short wheelbase and long wheelbase, therefor just by looking at the lenght of the car you cant determine wether its a 320 or 500.
On the other hand the S600's only exist in the long wheelbase.
Well, debadging does not necessarilly qualifies as a poser. Some prefer the clean "no badge" look just like SilentAttack. Now, if an IS250 debadge and replace it with IS350 - or - as Flatine stated...A4 debadging it to S4 -- that's a different story.
Good lookin` out for the new IS owners....
True true.
But, it also kinda depends on the model you've got.
For example, you tend to see more RS or GS Eclipses that debadge than the turbo models. (you can tell by the wheels and/or exhaust.)
I'd be more likely to believe that someone debadges (for the look) when they've got the upgraded model of a car, rather than when they debadge a base model.
As far as "rebadging" goes, the WORST offenders around here are 6cyl Mustang people.
Sooooo many people putting GT badges and a dual exhaust rip off on the cars. Too bad the hood, wheels, and rear bumper are a dead giveaway. Not to mention the sound of the exhaust.
I wonder "what's the point?" Most people who are gonna care and/or LOOK for the GT badges will probably know the differences between the models anyways.
Hey guys what do you think if I remove the Lexus badge and the L badge in the middle n just leave the IS300 alone. Need opinions n btw the badges are in Black Pearl on a MSM.

I removed the "I" fine, but the "S" is stuck to the car with both sticky tape and a peg. Therefore, there is a hole behind the "S". Just passing along this information.
