It was wet out (yes, I had trac off) and lost the back end in the right hander near my dad's house. I hit the a tree pretty hard with passenger side rear door. Fortunately, I'm OK and nobody else got hurt. It was pretty dark so it was hard to tell how focked the car was.
I know I'll get flamed for asking this, but yesterday I got new tires (S-03). Last night, I washed my car. I armor all'ed the sidewalls and thought since the tires were new I would put armor all over them so the whole tire would be jet fockin' black. It looked hella sweet. You guys don't think this might have caused my wreck, do you? I know Armor All is a little slick but I wonder if there was something else wrong with the tires also, or something?

You are an absolute fool.
Yes - the armor all is the cause of your accident. Of course, the fact that you were an idiot at the wheel with traction control off in the rain means that you were bound to crash eventually. Maybe the armor all saved your life by not allowing you to get up to speed before plowing yourself into stationary objects.
Hmm... I covered my tires in slick liquid - do you think that could hurt traction? I hear that sraying Pam on your brake rotors makes them look 'hella sweet' maybe that will be your next detailing project.
You guys don't have to be such fockin dicks. There was probably somthing wrong with them anyway if they caused the wreck. I'm gonna go down to NTB and complain this afternoon.
You think you're funny, HoustonGGP, why don't you meet somewhere tomorrow night and tell me and my boys about it, brah.

There was nothing wrong with the damn tires. Well, nothing wrong until you LUBRICATED the traction surfaces!
How are you going to blame this on a prefectly good tire. The only way you'd have a chance os if the tire physiclally failed - blew out or threw its tread.
And if you're planning on meeting HoustonGPP, please take public transportation and keep the streets safe for the rest of us.

Hmm yeah thats realistic. Don't be another chat forum tough guy. Those guys won't have armorall on their tires too will they? If so they may be late for our date
You must be in highschool. If not I feel sorry for that thing you call your "maturity level". You even admitted you'd get flame. Enjoy it and move on.
Ive done the armorall on the steering wheel. Had some prblems gripping the wheel for like a week in my Honda. Well hope it works out for you man. Good luck and Peace.

Whether putting AA on the tires was stupid (probably so) or even caused the wreck (probably not), i'm still the one that got focked here.
I know - but you have to consider the facts:
1. You put a lubricating liquid on your tires.
2. You lost traction and crashed.
There does seem to be a little cause and effect in place here. I know you're the one that loses out here, but since you didn't get hurt I'm being less gentle - to make the point that it was a dangerous thing to do and that you or someone you care about could have been seriously hurt.
In order for it to be a learning experience, you have to know for sure that what you did is the cause of the bad thing that happened. That was the intent of your original post. Well, I'm here to let you know that lubricating your tires will lose you traction.

Hmmm...Yeah...Sounds like it was your own damn fault.
Why's everyone giving him a hard time? So he made a mistake, you havn't? C'mon, haha, fun to pick on the noob but really guys the site is here for people to enjoy, not for people to be harrased. He didn't start the shit talking that's for sure reguardless of his age, and if he is younger he's being somewhat more mature than you for starting the shittalking in the first place.
If you can't play nice, the don't play at all.

my original post wasn't harsh. it was just a poke is all for not using his better judgement (ie. common sense) he came here for info on whether or not adding amorall to your tires will cause you to lost traction on the pavement. how many of you already knew this was a possibility? i am sure he did too and was just following up is all. he even admitted he would probably get flamed (almost admitting his own poor judgement right there) and he did.
i wasn't the one spouting off about coming down to h-town with my boys to start a ruckus. that is just plain non-sense. for a first post it was a rough one. he's past it and better for it i think. :D

My dealership dresses the sidewalls of my tires after each service and they do get slippery around corners. You just have to take it easy for a while.
Same with mine.
Oh, and sorry about my previous post above if I was acting too much like a wise guy. I feel for ya.
