Ah, the elusive black JDM tail lights. These are only available through import, and are a factory Toyota part over in Japan. They are darker than the factory "smoked" or "black pearl" lenses that come on the darker color 02' and 03' IS300.

About 10 mins
Step 1: Using a thin small flat head screwdriver or similar object, pop off the plastic round screw covers as show in the picture. They come off easily, so there is no need to force.
Step 2: Remove the screws under the caps with your phillips screwdriver. Grip the lens housing and pull out towards you wiggling a bit as you pull. They come out somewhat easily.
Step 3: Remove the three bulbs by turning the bulbs counter clockwise.
Step 4: On the passenger side, there will be an extra step involved. You must remove the small gold screw as shown in the picture below. Reattach this in the same location on your new lens when you install that side.
Step 5: Simply reverse the steps to install your new lenses. Be sure when locking the bulbs back into the new housing they are secure. If they are loose at all this may cause future leaking and condensation build up inside the housing.
What is it that the gold screw holds in step 4? I've always been curious. Does anybody know?
