Kinda surprised that, in this whole thread, nobody tried connecting their HALO kit to the foglight switch (assuming you dont have foglights any more, because of a bodykit or whatever).
So here's a couple of questions:
1) If I wire my halo kit to what used to be my foglight wires, will I then be able to independently control my halos with the foglight switch, regardless of whether it's day or night or my headlights or parking lights are on or off?
2) To wire my halo kit wires to the foglight wires, can I just use a t-tap?

To modify the 2nd question, though, screw a t-tap. I actually got some simple male and female bullet connectors at AutoZone. I'm going to cut the plugs that used to be for my foglights, strip the wires, and crimp them into the little connector to be able to connect them to the wires coming out of the halos..
Does it matter which side is male and which is female?
On one side the wires coming from the halos, the other side being the stock fog light wires.
I just did this mod. (very easy) but the fog lights still turn off when I put my brights on. Is there a DIY mod to make the fogs stay on with the high beams?

That will burn your fuse/fusebox so that's not a smart thing to do. Car fires just don't seem like fun to me.
I just did the fog mod about 15 minutes ago and it was EASY. 10 minutes, tops! But is there a way to have the foglights on with the DRLs?
Your fogs can turn on with or without the DRLs. Mine do. But, you can't have fogs on with high beams on. Maybe you had your high beams on when you tested out your fogs?
(Unless you do the fog light PLUS high-beam mod, which is a bit more involved. Plus, you really DON'T wanna do that cuz you'll FRY your passenger side fuse panel by having both on..)

And, you defeat the purpose of fog lights in adverse weather if you have your high beams on as well. Unless, of course, you're trying to "look cool"...
Had this mod for about 6 weeks now, but blew a fuse on the ignition side(car died). Has anybody had this problem? (I was using the suggested wire gauge and fuses).
Any more info on this?? A guy blew his fuse and the ignition took a crap on him. I was reading this and I want to do the same thing with my fogs but I dont want to have the same thing that happened to him, happen to me.
Actually, it would be smarter to use the FOG fuse since its right there. Also, the FOG fuse is the power for this circuit originally, not to mention that the IGN fuse is only half of the rated amperage (7.5amp) as the FOG fuse (15amp)...and the IGN circuit may not hold up to this, especially if running HID's.

Took me ten minutes. I got it working, then was putting everything back together when a friend was in the car messing with stuff and it stopped working! Long story short, I took 20 more minutes to get it working again. I was troubleshooting and I find out that my nice friend turned my high beams on! Dick! So now it is good to go and with my PIAA parking lights it looks sick!!! I love it. Good writeup. Next up is making it work with high beams!!!
