New IS300 Racecar

Hey everyone-

My name is Nik, and I'm building an 01 IS300 for NASA wheel to wheel racing. I've already used a handful of threads on this forum for advice, and I'm sure I will many more times before the car is finished. I'll be making a thread to catalog the car's exploits from build to competition. Hopefully all goes well and you guys enjoy the car

Probably not a terrible idea to post some photos...

The car's first trip to a racetrack, just as a spectator.

Aaand, delving into the car for the first time.

The motor will stay mostly stock, at least for now. Engine modifications are worth a lot of points in NASA, so it's better for me to do a dyno-reclass and lose the weight instead. There are little things I can do here and there to hopefully pick up a few HP, but not much more than a nice header and exhaust and some fuel and ignition tuning.

The suspension is getting most of the attention. I'm using a whole bunch of FIGS parts, as well as a set of custom coilovers made by Gears Racing (though I may have to put something more basic in temporarily while they are being constructed.

For this class, I'll be using 17x9" wheels with 235 width Toyo RR tires.

Oh boy, that is the question, isn't it? With any luck, I'll be ready by April 22nd. I still have a lot of work to do in that time though. Hopefully tonight I'll start up the car's build/competition thread.
