Gas smell near filler door, coming in cabin

I just picked up a certified 2014 is250 from a dealer. It only has 10k on it and on my way home I noticed a faint gas smell. It seems to be strongest in the rear seats and more so on the driver's side. Outside of the car it is strongest by the filler door area. I have checked to make sure the cap is tight and it is. I have an appointment at the dealer but am looking for some insight. Thanks.

It might be caused by a worn out fuel line hose. Hose needs replacement.

The car is to new for worn out fuel lines.

It sounds like the fuel pump area. The fuel pump is under the rear seat cushion, under the driver side and could be leaking. If the cushion is anything like the IS300, you can grab the front part of the cushion and pull up to release the clips. Then pull forward towards the front to pull it out. You will see the top part of the tank.

Good Luck

Could also be the fuel cap gasket if it has a cap (idk if the new ones are capless now or not). It could also be if you're overfilling the gas tank or topping it off too much. This will cause the charcoal canister to soak up all the fuel and keep the smell around.

Like IS3_FTW said, It could be the pump assembly under the seat. There happens to be a gasket there.

I have an appointment at the dealer scheduled for Wednesday the 26th. I am guessing that it's a fuel pump gasket or something to do with the charcoal canister.
