Is this forum dead

What's up with the third generation section? I thought 2014-present was the third generation IS.

It's not "dead", but it's definitely losing steam

I agree with vlad-a 100%

It's sad to see

I wouldn't say the whole forum is dead, its just more popular with the 1st gen IS owners. For some reason majority of the 2nd and 3rd gen owners like to post over on clublexus.

I do agree with vlad_a though, the newer IS caters to the masses and you can't really do too much to them. Most of the builds I see for the newer IS is just the typical "stance" build which includes wide wheels, air suspension, widebody or something along those lines.

You hardly see anybody talking about boosting a 2nd or 3rd gen just because its so expensive and everything would have to be custom. At that point they could just sell their current ISx50 and get a IS-F instead. The only exception I can think of is the Toyomoto 2jz-gte swapped IS250 and heyarms' supercharged IS250 over on clublexus.

Whats good IS Forum!? This year, I picked up a lightly used '14 IS350 AWD F Sport in Obsidian with the red seats! Man i love this car it is so sexy and smooth! Its pretty quick too, but I still want a little more punch! I have been looking around and really want to know if anyone has boosted their Xe30's? Any input? I have already installed the Fsport intake and am contemplating the Fsport exhaust with the invidia mid pipe , and maybe even the some aftermarket headers. I know there are other aftermarket intakes, i may change it later, but i like the stock look. Some people are advising to trade it in for an ISF for more power, but thats not an option for me. Don't get me wrong the ISF is badass whip, but I chose the 350 not the ISF. Why, because although remarkably the ISF has very similar mpg, and more power, and that badass 8 speed transmission, but I wanted to save a little on insurance, wanted a v6 not a v8, and i like the new body mainly.. call me whatever its my money and my decision. Either way I'm glad to be a part of the is forum and love my car! Cars I have owned in the past include, 2000 Celica, 2000 s2000, 2009 Civic SI sedan. Yup, back to the toyota. My IS clowns them all in the things i need it for, although I do miss the AP1's 9k redline sometimes. I know about the arma, and the HKS superchargers, there is one guy that has a 372hp IS350 on clublexus/youtube with a custom setup using a Rotrex s/c i believe, but he has the prior gen body. Any one have any input on this?

Still here. I will say I've hardly had a need to visit a forum for my 2nd gen as it's serving DD duty, but my.is is still a wealth of knowledge for the 1st gen and I hope it soldiers on.

I'm sure once they start to drop in price people will start playing with them. Not a lot of people wanna just dive into modding engines and stuff when they just spent 20-30k on their car lol

I must say I expected there to be more ISF owners on here. Especially after having one in our studio and getting to know it better. It's a great car overall, just has too many gears and weighs a bit too much. But it would make a sweet DD

I am a former 1IS owner so that is why I come on here periodically and ritually in the past but since i've gotten my 3IS, I post on CL instead because thats where all the other 3IS owners are.

Was a 1st gen owner and would've gotten a 2nd gen IS.

But 3rd gen IS... just not a fan of that big-a$$ Audi-esque front grill area.

I can only imagine what the unveiled 4th gen will be like (re: China Auto Show as reported by AutoWeek) New Lexus IS gets redesign before Beijing auto show
