Well I decided to try again with my color matching skills and paint the vvti cam gear again. My first try was good, but a little to dark on the yellow. My step dad had a rattle can of john deer yellow that seems to be a closer match. You be the judge and tell me...

same process as before

old color/first try

John deer color to match other pulleys.

I was at the machine shop and my block and head should be ready tomorrow but I won't be able to get down there till next week.
Im excited!

Allright fellas, Settled up with RnR Custom Engines with my motor and its going to get picked up tomorrow. It took a little longer because the shop was waiting on a new state of the art RMC V30 CNC machine to arrive. This is the only one is Arizona and my motor was one of the first to get the works. I had them assemble the head and set the timing as well. Once I get it home the rest will start to be assembled. Here we go!!

Here is the RMC machine

Sides, Block and head painted black

So fresh and so clean clean

more to come...

Well now that my motor is back home I have some work to do. Decided to clean some of my components and wait them to match the block.
I started with the motor mount housings, TB, and Idler pulley housing. Heres progress pics...

Since my photos were boring here is a Pantera to drool over. This was a car my machine shop did just when I picked up my motor.

All I could say was WTF!!

We'll see how paint comes out tomorrow. Ill post pictures then...

Small update here: Paint set well with the parts I painted. looks good can't wait to assemble it to the block. My motor is at my stepdads but I'm doing all the odds and ins at my house. Going to do more wire loom replacement on my harness tomorrow and hopefully get that wrapped up. I ordered megan hardened motor mounts and also ordered a new starter motor. Didn't really need a starter but didn't want to put old stuff back on a fresh new motor. I found a TYC starter brand new, not reman for $88 no core charge or shipping. The nice thing about TYC starters is that they are made by DENSO. So I figured a brand new Denso vs a more expensive DENSO reman is worth it to me.

Pic of painted Idler housing, motor mount housing and plates, and throttle body:

Things are moving again. Painting all the extras is my priority right now, then assembly, then picking turbo or nitrous ( i have time to really think that one over) Keep checking back for updates...

Just got my Megan motor mounts today. Hardened rubber material. Should work just fine.

Still awaiting my new starter motor. Im going to attempt to take the housing off my alternator and paint it. Should be interesting.
My wire harness is so close to being done. I put in a couple hours on it the other night but, it gets super hot outside in AZ round this time, and I don't last long. Stay tuned homies!!
