Picked up a new VVTI gear. Unfortunately the one I have painted and installed right now started to form oil at the bottom face of the gear. Oh well, just have to do over...

Turbo shop is building my turbo and should be done next week. Stay tuned...

Ok I went ahead and tapped my oil drain for the turbo. I used the allowed area on the top of the oil pan for my hole. (made sense) After buying a $20 1/2inch pipe tap and a 45 64ths drill bit for $25, I was able to get started lol. It could just be me and lack of experience but, tapping a hole is not as easy as it may seem.(like tapping ass) Lots of things can go wrong. Luckily for me everything went just fine. Check it out...

Here is the lower pan with a guard that will need to be taken off with it. This is a must so no metal shavings go in your pan

Just a up skirt shot of the internals for fun.

Newly tapped hole.

Finished product...Don't forget to re-seal your oil pan when you reinstall it. All that gray shit will come off with a razorblade once its dry.

Well thats all today. One thing at a time, slowly but surely this beast will be done. This build just past the 1 year mark which i expected. My free time is very limited and I have to share it with other priorities. Keep checking in for updates.

Soooo much stuff goes into builds done right and you, Sir, are doing it right! Documenting this stuff is priceless as well. It's a good reference to remember all the effort.

After it's up and running, you'll look back on your thread and be like "damn, I can't believe I did all that." ...or at least that's the reaction I had to my thread a few days ago.
