Shitty night pic teaser. These things are flush man. Tires are one size too tall at the moment. 245/40/18. Theres basically a 1 and 1/2 finger gap all around. Front doesnt rub. Rear rubs on bumps and turns. My fender roller said he cant get me in until monday. Might have to break out the baseball bat tomorrow to get me a few mm lol

heading out to get the rear fenders rolled now. Have a couple decisions to make for tire/suspension. I would really like to get a set of tokico illumina with the eibach prokit springs. The stock suspension is basically mush after 130k miles. The tires that came with the wheels are crap. Some offbrand allseason. I think im going to get 255/35/18 for the rear and 235/35/18 for the front. Probably federal 595rsr.

Looking good! How different is it going to bigger wheels? I'm still on my stocks now. Thinking about prokits as well, as I have almost 140k miles.

long time no post. Just redid the brakes on the car. Went with some stoptech ss lines front and rear, ebc yellowstuff pads, and some ebay slotted only rotors. I figure theyll hold up okay, definitely wasnt going to put drilled ebay rotors on and have them crack on me. Car feels good, feel like the brake fluid should have been changed 60k miles ago. Ill put some pictures up soon.

Todays fun, both of my Hella fog lights burned out at the same time. 6 months old.

sorry never saw this. You get used to it, car definitely wants to follow the grooves in the road more when you go to a wider setup. Feels a little funny at first then you just stop noticing. As far as going to a 18 from a 17, mostly just harsher ride from running a lower profile tire.

lol yeah i really like them. I do kind of wish the front had an offset a few mm in but they work. probably going to get some godspeed or megan arms and dial in a little negative camber. We'll see how it is after I drop it. Planning on some koni's and eibach prokit sometime in the future. Really need tires first as the ones that came witht he wheels are bullshit all seasons and have too tall of a sidewall. Was looking at some federal 595 rsr's. Probably 225/40/18 as they run so wide that its core like a 245/255 of most tires.

my car needed painted anyways so I hammered all of the fenders to the shape i wanted, with them shaped like this you get so much more clearance room i could lower the car anther inch and it wouldn't rub

Put the car in winter mode yesterday. Now that the evo wheels are off I can get my new suspension installed. The 245/40/18's wouldnt allow for any lowering. I was rubbing pretty bad on the fronts, bad enought that one of my bumper tabs broke. Theres a slight hole in the front passenger side liner from the tire as well. Will be running something sticky and probably a 35 sidewall next spring.

Installing Koni oranges w/ tein H-Techs tomorrow. We'll see about the H-techs. I'm usually not a fan of tein springs but I went with these because they offer the least amount of lowering out of any spring I could find. they advertise .7" front and 1" rear. If i dont like them I'll swap to the pro kit. As far as the koni's go they're supposed to be like yellows on full soft. This is my daily get to work vehicle that will at most see an autocross and some spirited driving the appalachians. I'm hoping this is a comfortable daily setup that has some performance gains. I will also be changing the front strut mounts and the #2 lca bushing because theyre torn on both sides. I believe its called the castor arm on this car? Should be fun.

New suspension is on and it is everything I wanted out of a daily. The koni's are firm but not too stiff. I hadn't opened the any of the boxes and was pleasantly surprised that the STR.T come with adjustable perches just like the yellows. I thought they would be an oem design. This allowed for another 10-15 mm of lowering to go with the H-tech 7/10's of an inch in front and 1" rear drop. Very mild. the Tien H-Tech are actually a very comfortable spring. Its hard for me to give a real review on the benefits over stock since i was driving around on 140k miles struts/springs. The car used to be way to soft and bouncy just due to being worn out. It is now firm but very comfortable. It eats bumps in the roads and railroad tracks, etc with no problems.

We also noticed that the #2 LCA bushing were completely torn on both sides. Those were replaced with some poly bushings.

And this is how she sits now on the winter setup. These wheels are 17x8 +44 with a 225/45/17 winter tire. I do not rub at all on this setup. I will have to go to a smaller tire than I have been running on my summer wheels. Probably a 225/40/18 and will have to roll the fronts due to the lower offset on those.
