Thumbs Up Seshween's 2JZGTE VVTi Single Turbo w/AR5 IS300 Build

What's up guys !

New to the is300 community and thought I'd share my experiences with this build. I come from a Nissan/Infiniti background but have always loved Toyota/Lexus as well. I've owned multiple 240s with numorous different set-ups, and have been daily driving a Y33 q45 for 4 years. Always was a dream to have a IS300 as a kid and the opportunity presented itself a couple months ago when I acquired this one. '02 auto big bird yellow lol I heard the yellow ones are rare but not my style. It will end up being black.

I've done extensive online research on what it'll take to achieve this swap ( thanks to member "Curran" ) and others that have put R&D time into this beautiful chassis. Now for pictures of the car and parts I've already acquired to get a head start ! Thank you for reading and I hope you enjoy 👍

Here's my daily

Here's the project - '02 auto with black interior

2JZGTE VVTi from an Aristo - purchased from 'JDM California'

Pulled the twins

Future Fab ceramic coated v-band manifold

R154 external slave set up pieces for the AR5

JZX110 shifter and jacket with breather

5 speed pedal set with master cylinder

Single turbo AN oil lines, Status Leguna carbon Kevlar seat, Vertex steering wheel, Greddy intercooler

Have the trans on the way as well ! Will be updating when teardown starts in a week or so. Still looking at turbo set ups and a couple clutch set ups but have my eyes on a Garret GTX3582R with tial v-band housing and drift motion oem Aisin upgraded pressure plate with the six puck disk.

Thank you again ! Have a good day

My account got deactivated for a while but i guess were good to go now. Got the engine out of the car, have everything pulled from the engine bay, have the is300 engine harness (GE) transferred over to the GTE - * NOTE : the only plug harness i had to extend was the water temp sender (used the GE sender). Everything else was able to extend with unlooming. Also not a fan of ABS brakes - so i deleted the abs module and ran custom hard lines, not worried about any abs, traction, or check engine lights, Im registering the vehicle where smog is exempt. Purchased AEM FIC with the plug and play harness, AEM tru boost gauge and controller, and AEM wideband. PICTURES:

Ran the harness under the intake manifold

Rear brake line tee for the ABS delete

AEM tru boost and wideband

AEM FIC - I know its not the best, but will work until im ready to upgrade to a standalone

Update ! Pressure washed the engine bay and scuffed for paint.

AR5 trans showed up, Bell housing, Tomei fuel pressure regulator (Large Diaphram) with Tomei gauge, and the AN lines I'm using for the FPR too. Finished the ABS delete with hard lines, and drilled holes for the master cylinder (unfortunately someone had already drilled a couple holes where the clutch master goes to run an amplifier power cord )

This is a sweet build, Could you tell me some of the benefits/why you choose to use the AR5 transmission? I am not too familiar with that swap.

It's a cheap alternative to the R154. It will shift better than any R154 as well and not as noisy.
