Thanks Josh! Yeah, I'm getting there. Slowly, but surely. I did get a hold of him and was finally able to see the kit in person! I did find out that it was in fact a V:S kit, and not Vertex like he so adamant about. (I didn't care.. lol) So I picked it up a couple weeks ago, and he threw in the sides pretty much for free as he didn't want to try selling them separately.

Here are the pics: I will be getting the kit painted/repaired over the winter, then I'll be running the kit in the spring.

I had already sent my payment over to Easton to pick up his sides, which were delivered the day after I picked up the front + sides. I am still undecided which sides to keep. Both are in really good condition, but the unpainted ones almost look brand new..

Picked up a JIC front strut bar locally for a pretty decent price.

I bought a rebuild kit for all 4 calipers and got them put back together.

Back on the car: (sorry for the crappy cell phone pics, forgot my camera)

That is all for the pics right now. I won't go into details, but life has been pretty stressful/hectic as of late. However, I have been able to get a decent amount of work done on the car. I only have a couple things left, then it is off to get tuned. I have been in contact with PSI down in Portland, who do amazing work with 2j's. They are about a month out right now, so I should be getting the car back around New Years once I get everything else together. So, I have about a month to get it all finished up.

Here is what I have left until then:

- Get the car on the ground (plan on doing tomorrow)
- Finish battery re-location - need to fab a new "battery tray" bracket to sit below trunk lining.
- Install Catch Can - need to fab a bracket to install in the original battery space

I am starting to feel a lot better about the build, and it is kind of hitting me that I will soon have a Turbo IS.. I cannot wait to get back into the car, have not driven it in over a year..

Thanks Jeremy! I hope so.

Not a lot of updates here. Car is pretty much set to get tuned. I've been in contact with Jason at PSI (amazing guy to work with!) and we are all lined up to get it finished around the end of the year.

There was one tiny little hiccup, they have a TON of experience working on 2js. They used to only do 2js, but they do such a nice job, other people wanted their service as well. So now, they do pretty much any car!

Their best experience with standalones has been AEM, so they weren't 100% sure on my Haltech Sprint 500. They asked me to scan/send over the schematics and base map. Just got notice that everything looks good! If it doesn't work out, might go with the EMS. We'll see what happens.

Anybody in the NW region looking for ANY work done, check them out. They do it all.

A buddy of mine is doing a single turbo gte swap in his 240. All 2j parts were bought individually through PSI. They are ripping out the old setup, painting the bay, full wire tuck, building the gte from ground up, install, full tune and dyno for a pretty amazing price. Only taking a week to get it done too.. I would post the price, but I'm not sure that's allowed.. :p

Nice progress dood.
Almost there.
Love the color of the calipers BTW!

Too many people try to impress others and build their car to what they know someone will like.
You lose sight on what you like, when you simulate your likes around others dislikes.

Thanks man!

Not a lot going on with the build. Been in contact with PSI who is going to finish up the car/tune it for me. Wanted to wait til after the holidays. That, plus I've been dealing with a lot of personal issues.

With that being said, a couple more parts were delivered this week.

I actually got some time to work on the car a little last night. I've recently moved back to my parents house temporarily, and apparently misplaced my spanner wrenches in the move... Looked for them for over an hour with no luck. So, I started putting my front end back together, started routing my neg battery cable down the pass side of the car, and relocated the OE ground to the trunk.

I hope to get some time tonight to finish the cable routing, and get started on my oil cooler install.

I've decided to ditch the Sprint 500, and go with the AEM EMS. I had a question though, I read that with a full standalone, there is no need for the o2 sim/delete, is that right? Am I still going to have a CEL with the EMS..?

I would gladly pick up the TS pnp o2 delete, but I won't if I don't NEED to...

01 MSM Turbo Build

You don't need the 02 delete with a standalone. You'll just be running your wideband in the exhaust with no OEM O2 sensor

I believe with the Dezod AEM EMS v2 there isn't a CEL light on but there would be a code if you scanned the car,
Obviously. You can check Eminence's thread

Not a lot happening as of late. Been trying to focus on getting back in the workforce, and it seems that has finally happened for me!

I had to move middle of last month, while the car was still waiting to be finished.. Here are some pics of it being towed from my old place to my new casa:

Off we go:

All tucked in again..

This is where the car has been the last 3 weeks or so. I have since "fine-tuned" a couple of things, raised the front back up a bit and put the headlights back in. I have all the parts necessary to get her completed now.

My appointment with PSI is closely approaching.. She will be delivered to PSI next weekend in preparation for tuning and being put on the dyno.

I also dropped off my V:S kit the other day to be repaired and painted, that should be done right around the time I get the car back from PSI. I also just received my tax return, and placed a little order with FIGS this morning..

Re: 01 MSM Turbo Build

Haha, me either.. It's going to be more of a conservative tune for now. Once the tuning and everything is finished up, this might be it for a while on the car.

I haven't upgraded the internals yet, and I'm still running the stock auto tranny. The remaining parts on my list are:

-GTE bottom end
-FFIM
-264/272 cams
-v160/161
-Koyo Radiator
-Dual fuel pump hanger
-Upgrade lines to SS lines
-Random odds and ends..

And I really want to change up the wheels... I'm really happy with where the car is now. There is just a small handful of parts left, where I will be more than satisfied with where I've brought her.

Thanks for the comments man! You're car is looking beautiful as always!

Re: 01 MSM Turbo Build

Dropped her off at PSI this morning. They are pretty slammed, have like 5 cars to finish up for Formula Drift.

The guys were really cool, really nice and understanding. We went over every inch of the car, so every body is on the same page.

I didn't take too many pics. I had my daughter with me, and she was getting fussy.. Here are the pics I did take, not much...

Nicks IS300 Turbo Re-build v.2-uploadfromtaptalk1362452650262.jpg

This 240 had a huge ass intercooler and turbo sitting in the front seat..

Nicks IS300 Turbo Re-build v.2-uploadfromtaptalk1362452665672.jpg

Being dropped off..

Nicks IS300 Turbo Re-build v.2-uploadfromtaptalk1362452730340.jpg

They are waiting on some parts to be delivered, but they will get started on Thursday. They said the work that is left shouldn't take more than a couple days, including tuning and a dyno run!
