What are the options for a new rear end? is there a way to build the m85 with stronger gears?

The stock diff or BRZ are out of the question if your putting constant abuse on it after 700hp i feel. Im looking into a Supra Diff with a real LSD (Kaaz/OSG) or a Ford 8.8 conversion. If the stock torsen diff blows up it can send your car out of control very easily.

Yeah the stock frs diff won't cut it especially with the 4.x gearing I need it atleast in the 3.7 or below that since I will be using a cd009 trans. but I'm just questioning the m85 and its strength... I just wish you could rebuild an m85 with stronger components. There is a company that makes a kit to put a 8.8 in the frs subframe but they want 7,000$ for it

Just buy a 3.7 gear. Build the setup you need.

Transmission and engine come first when building for strength. Rear end last. It's the strongest component in the drivetrain. Even the axles will hold 1,000HP.

Exactly i just wont launch the car on high boost if i want it to last. Ill take the plunge one day and buy the FRS 8.8 Kit from Full blown when its time.

I bought the V160 combo'd with a Supra rear. I sent both to Jack's for a rebuild but they reported case damage on the rear so I returned it. It was $900. I would buy one again and mod the subframe to fit it but I'm happy with the 3.5 ratio for now.

The GS diff is another option for gearing the Getrag to 3.2ish if I remember correctly.

Yes if i cant find a big diff (220mm) ill use a GS diff which are cheap and readily available. If i destroy my ring and pinion ill def grab a 3.5 ring until then. How do you like it so far?

So far so good. I don't have anything to compare it to but I don't find the gearing to be too short. Quite nice actually.
I had to do something with the 3.9 ring and pinion and this turned out to be a cheaper and relatively easy option.

Interesting placement of your Pro-EFI. I'm assuming you installed it there so a cop wouldn't be able to find it?

Hell yeah man. Did you have any porting done on the head? I'm seriously considering those gsc s2 cams but they're a little over $1k for the vvti spec. Ouch.
