Affordable 2JZ connecting rods!

Look no more! We have commissioned Molnar Tech to make some for the community! Yet another Dezod first for the Lexus community.

More info:

Comes with ARP2000 rod bolts too.

Who's ready for some more boost?

i'd like to know this too. Although they say 550 whp without problems but for GTE rods that's not near the limit.

They are basically saying that 550 HP is the highest they have anyone using them at they really dont no what the limits are because noone has pushed them that far.

They look nice and price is oka but the way they make it seem with those questions and answer is like they are about the same as an eagle rod.

Nothing against eagles, while I did use a set in my mr2 up to 800,seeing those and something like a carillo rod makes a big difference in my eyes.

Fellas, let me dispel a myth here before this gets waaay too off topic. THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS A HP RATING TO A ROD. It's not like the rod is going to snap in half because it's making 500whp or even 1000whp. Detonation kills rods. So your tuning and control of the combustion cycle offers the best insurance policy on any rod lasting the test of time.

may I throw in something?

Not only tuning..... it is also the torque and rpm what also can kill conrods.
Too much torque at high rpm hammers very very high horizontal forces to the conrod which makes it bending and breaking.

So this would be a useful data, I have seen these conrods many times offered on eBay under different names, mostly as EAGLE which I also have and I did 580BHP and 655NM TQ on them without issues.

They offer them by 150BHP per conrod, which would make 900BHP per set of 6.
I got told this by the seller when I bought my EAGLEs in 2008.

But meanwhile I have heard rumors of a max of 700HP to 800HP.... I am a little unsure now about them really to let 900 horses onto them.

All in all I am sure they can take much more than 550RWHP if they're really the same as the EAGLEs, what I suspect.

Well, to be fair, a rod can have a torque limit...but is any 2JZ engine likely to exceed the torque limit on a rod that thick? Doubtful. Think of putting a weight on the end of the rod and hanging it horizontally. You would need well in excess of 1000lbs to get those rods to bend.

Poster, I mean poster. What have I done?

I have a set in my Mr2 as well, and although I haven't tested them yet, I've had more than one conversation with Tom at molnar. Solid guy and I would buy them again. He will be frank and honest with you.
