I would feel the joe z intake would make more then that. When I cut my intake resonaters off the oem intake tube the car felt like it sucked in air a lot faster and I could feel a kick after. With only a 2hp gain you wouldn't even feel it so if my half ass kob of just cutting the extra plastic and covering the hole netted some noticeable power the joe z intake has to he more than just 2hp. Back to what you were saying about new is owners being cheap. That's not right at all. I wouldn't mind paying that much for dezod headers if they produced more power. Maybe the red headers produce more we don't know bc no numbers ha e been put up. But for only 12hp gain at the wheel you're paying 100 per horsepower of gain and that isn't econamically effecient for your everyday enthusiasts. Its not a matter of being cheap its a matter of backing the product with a reasonable gain. Dont get me wrong or take this the wrongg way. The dezod headers have amazing quality and workmenship and I'm not taking anything away from that. But when you look at it from a tuner perspective for performance the gains aren't there. Just my thoughts.

Stock intake/filter isn't restrictive. Red smallboostin's article where he measure pressure at different point of the intake system. It has also been shown many aftermarket air filter are INFERIOR to stock air filter. JoeZ/any short ram intake without a tune = placebo effect, especially since you didn't dyno anything and are just going on your butt dyno. If you want some real NA gains, cam shaft + headers + intake WITH TUNE. Eye or Ear hp are cheap. Real RWHP are expensive.

I didn't dyno it but I did 0-60 time comparisons and we did a bunch of those. And with the joe z style intake it was a faster. I had a k and n drop in at the time. I had headers at the time with a cat back exhaust. Together it yeilded decent results. But this is a discussion about the headers and gains.

I live near a private road and the owner let us let loose we had 3 timers and did several runs to get an average. Same starting point everytime and same person saying go everytime. Kept it very scientific. I know it isn't exact but it was a good estimate.

As far as the price goes I think it would be great if you could price them between $500.00-800.00 tops. Because I don't think the dezod headers have been selling very well after reading a lot of threads about them and I think its because there too much. As far as everyone saying a lot of Is300 owners are cheap, I don't think its fare to call someone cheap because they don't want to spend 1300 dollars on a couple of bended exhaust pipes aka headers that only make a few more horse power then a 100 dollar joez intake.
Dezod Headers probably didn't sell because everyone is waiting for the FIGS Headers.

What were you measuring with? Something other than 3 guys with 3 different stopwatches I hope.

I think it would be awesome if you make just the headers so we can keep our factory y pipe. Which will help keep costs down hopefully but the main reason is that way we can still have a cat convertor and it wont sound raspy.

Hello Figs!

I've been following this thread for a while. Just wanted to let you know that I'm very interested in purchasing a good quality header (without cats) for my 2002 IS300 (5 speed)! I plan to build an NA high revving motor and I imagine your knowledge would yield the the best parts!

Is there any update on the development of this header?

No update yet. Its to my understanding Mike has a few other projects he needs to get cranked out first. This is definitely on the list though.
