I'd love to see it as well. My trunk has been falling on me lately

Just wondering why do we have this thread?

When ever i open my truck it flips up. Its how it works.

Owned 3 IS300s and never saw a need for this.

Mine decides when it wants to work. Sometimes it pops up like normal, sometimes it clicks but doesn't even look like it has enough leverage to come up and open.

Did these ever come to fruition? My torsion bar brackets busted and the trunk needs to be held open otherwise it slams down.

I know this is an old thread, but I'd buy some too. The brackets for my torsion bars snapped and I see nowhere to buy them. Would prefer not to drill, but I think I will have to just try the DIY buy listed earlier in the the thread. Unless there has been any progress on these?

I would buy it in a heart beat. The stock torsion bars kept popping up the sides of my carbon trunk.

Recently I have become aware of the secondary issue of hinges failing. I will look at a full bracket replacement that should make the mount for a prop easier but require rear deck removal.

Back from the dead thread...my hinge/bracket failed during the week (right side broke in half, releasing one of the torsion bars into the trunk, and left side has partially broken), and a check of a local JY with a couple of IS200's saw one of them also had a cracked (but not completely broken) hinge.

The other IS had good hinges, but removal took close to an hour - disconnect torsion bars, remove trunk lining, disconnect electrical wiring and feed back into trunk, unbolt trunk, remove back seat squab and back, unscrew seatbelts, remove speaker tray, remove lining under speaker tray, undo four bolts holding hinges to chassis. Now I need to repaint the brackets, and reverse process. And those are the cheapest brackets they could possibly have stamped out, I can see these becoming a high failure part as this platform continues to age...

Bump. When I release my trunk, it makes a noise and doesn't lift at all. I'm ready to pay for a trunk prop kit as soon as its ready.
