Help me choose my China Trip

Hey crew,

I ve' already posted in the PL let's see if it gets some response here .

I have a lot of unused vacation time thus I am planing a trip to China for this summer.

Info: Money is not a real issue (trying to keep it under 4000$/person). I will be flying out of Europe and my girl out of the USA. Minimum time would be 20 days otherwise you don't get to see anything right ?

Which one of the 2 following tours would you choose and why:

Thanks, Don-

PS: any other info or tips would be much appreciated if you have done a tour of the People's Republic!

I've never been to China, either, but I'd suggest PMing fellow International Forum moderator Calvin (hkis), who lives in Hong Kong. He should be able to help.

Hyper might be able to help you too. Not sure if China is amongst his visited countries, but he has certainly spent quite a long time on the region for the last couple of years.

kinda off topic, but if you get some extra time, might as well stop by Taiwan while at it! i can sure tell you many hot spots to stop (from G to PG13 to R to xxx... ) that will make you trip unforgetable.

My apologies for chiming in a bit late. I hope it's not TOO late!

My view is that if you've never been over here before at all, then I'd go for the itinerary on the left. You'll get to see a wider variety of sights within the limited time, from buzzing metropolitan cities to peaceful picturesque mountains, lakes and rivers. There'll be more 'things to do', but it may also mean less time to rest!

If, on the other hand, you have visited the region before, then the itinerary on the right may be more attractive. I'd imagine this itinerary, which basically fits in Tibet, to be more slow-paced and more relaxing and even now, Tibet remains a place not many people have visited. Go for this one if you prefer to chill and relax.

Hope this helps!

Thanks hkis.

Definitely not too late as I am planning this trip over these couple of months so it'll be ready for the summer.

Great input.
