Wait, what are you guys talking about? You can play dvd's in on your navi? And what is this trick you can do to "upgrade the DVD version?" Can someone inform me on this, I just bought the car and didn't even know you can play movies on the navi? Are there also software upgrades for the navi that I need to know about and how can I get access to them? Also, I'm able to play music through aux chord with my iphone but is there a way I can controll the music (like picking songs and changing music) using the navi?

We're talking about upgrading the navigation DVD. New one comes out every year.

You can't play movie DVDs unless you have the Mark Levinson option in addition to nav, or some other aftermarket DVD player.

There are a number of ipod integration kits to add some controls via nav, they usually run in the 200-300+ buck range plus installation (and can let you play ipod video in some cases too like the Vaistech one)

Grrr... I purchased my car used and it didn't include the DVD Navigation removal kit. I've got someone here at work to machine me something equivalent, yet as I tried pushing on both sides of the plate (where the clock is located) nothing happened, even with the aid of a suction cup. How deep should these go? Mine appear to be swalled by about 1.25 inches? There was a hard stop earlier on at about 0.5-inch depth, but nothing happened (and I didn't want to put too much pressure).

If anyone is in the Chicago area that has done this... please send me a PM message. I'm eager to update my 5.1 disc to 7.1, if not 8.1.

Use the two pointy tools from the trunk and inset them all the way in until right before the fat part of the tool is located. The clock cover should just pop right out.

I don't have the tools available. Can you do me a favour... and let measure diameter section of the thin part and the length of it to the larger "fat" part? I'd like to know that I'm pushing it far enough and if I made the right tool (with 1.5-mm dia).

You know what.. sorry I miss-read your post. You can get one of those eyeglass screwdrivers use one that fits in the hole and push it in. I just did that and it popped the clock cover.

Hello. I'm new here but am very quickly modding and learning about the 2IS. I've got an 06 350 that I've recently created a 5.1/8.1 hybrid disc of. I have the disc in .iso format and am wondering if any would like it? If so, I'll up it to a tracker and then share the link. Mods, if I'm overstepping legal bounds, feel free to delete this post.

You're not sure if offering a pirated copy of hacked commercial software is overstepping legal bounds? Seriously?

I'm not sure, no. Hence the fact that I asked. I come from a country where intellectual property isn't so nazi-like protected as it is here.

Yes, it's terribly nazi-like that people here don't like folks stealing from them.
