It's in the dash- little faceplate you remove right above the clock I think (this is probably all in your manual, and the tool to remove the plate is in the toolkit in your trunk)
I asked the Dealer for the new Update Dvd, and they are selling it for over hundreds of dollars. They also told me that I cannot just buy the CD, but I have to bring in the car for them to do it.

They wouldn't just sell me the disc. How shady.!
They're lying. For one, it's not a CD
For another you can certainly do it yourself, in like 5-10 minutes. It's idiot easy.
But yes they charge hundreds of bucks for it. It's reason 637 the OEM nav sucks compared to aftermarket.
would you willing to rip your 7.1 for us download and of course the 8.1 would be even better..
Is it that easy? in my 2004 Accord I had updated the navigation DVD I think a year or so ago and tried to make a backup copy but it wouldn't work (I used a dual-layer DVD and burned via Disk Utility on my Mac).

Has anyone upgraded the DVD version for the Navigation in a IS 250/350 themselves? I can't find any good instructions on how to do this anywhere. It is behind the unit somewhere and I have the new DVD. The dealership wants $49 to do it so I know it can't be all that complicated.

I have a 2006 IS 350.
Thanks.
There's a tool in your toolkit for this- it's just a faceplate by the clock on the dash with two little holes in it for the tool (or a couple paperclips or something), pop it off, there's the DVD drive. Swap DVDs, close, put plate back on, done.

Thanks. I figured it out. I took off the plate in about 20 seconds. Still can't believe the dealer didn't want to tell me how to do it myself. They probably think people will mess it up and come to them anyway.
