Where you would expect that kind of intake to make power is in the higher rpms and it just didn't. Just an idea, but how about an intake like JOEZ is working on, but also incorporate the factory resonator! I would think that would give us the best overall gain along with a future K&N drop in filter.

1. Keeps the car from ingesting warm engine air
2. Still quiet like stock
3. Maximize airflow by removing the accordian type ripples in the stock intake piping.

I still gotta say I haven't seen any positive proof on how much power the 350 intakes make. If the 350 is so sensitive to fan placement, how do we know that the baseline stock run didn't have perfect placement, while the intake runs had poor placement?

We still need to get one dyno'd with the hood down... plugged into an OBDII scanner with the extended lexus codes. That'll show us exactly what's going on.

Don't take my view the wrong way, it's perfectly possible the new intakes don't make any more power... but if they don't we need to know why so we can figure out how to fix it.

Right here in the MYis store as soon as they are available. You can bet there will be a big post when they are. Should be a week or so I believe.

Good News... Finally ready!!!

Alright Gang!!!! Good News!!!

Last night I actually picked up the first run of intakes!!!

The 3" Polished Aluminum Intake pipe designed for your IS250 & IS350
is constructed of 6061-T4 aluminum which has been mandrel bent and polished to a fine luster.
The Polish work is absolutely beautiful ...
Most of them will go off to be Anodized Black today and will be ready in about 3 more days...
NO corners have been cut in making this intake..

The intakes should be up & running in the MY.IS Store by sometime today as well..

Both Polished and Black Intakes will be available to purchase immediately.
The first set of orders will most likely ship out by middle of next week.
Intakes will come with a choice of Red, Blue or Yellow Silicone Sleeves.
Also included, will be 4 high end Stainless Steel worm clamps and step-by-step install instructions, that will make this part swap a breeze..!!

Most importantly the Intakes will be priced Specially for our IS Community Enthusiasts!!
It will be a very affortable and cost effective modification.

Later this evening, I will post a pic of the finished Polished Pipes..

Stay Tuned !!

Thank You

Joe Z

I understand...
But, as of right now I do not... But that may change in the future!!
Currently I can only offer what the supplier carries..
I am trying my hardest to find a good source for black silicone sleeves. I found plenty of the fiber re-inforced ones, but they are way expensive and not necessary for the intake application.

Plus, you do only see a portion of the sleeves once the covers are back on.

its not a big deal since they are easy to come by... but it would be more convenient

what size are the sleeves? 3" for both?

Any development on the dyno? I'm curious to see what if any gains are made with this intake. I'm hoping it gives us some gains considering this intake doesn't suck in hot engine bay air and has smoother piping. After my experience with the LMS intake i'm hesitant on believing intakes will make power on this car.

Hey James...

I have another test scheduled for hopefully next week...
The intakes are making power on the IS250, and I'm sure it will show better gains 2nd time around on the IS350...
The power will not be more then 4 to 7 rwhp...
But it will be good for the price!!
It's not an agressive intake...

I could.... if i wanted too... but there are quite a few open element fitlers on the market already, and plenty more on the way..

I'm still waiting to hear back from a few companies on a making a Good Drop-in-Filter for the stock air box...

Yeah hopefully the intake will make power for the IS350 all through the rpm and not just a higher peak number. From the dyno's I've done and the ones I've seen all the IS350's aren't gaining much power at the top end. Hopefully you are right about getting better numbers 2nd time around. I'll cross my fingers.

The reason why I made the intake for the IS300 and the current 2006 IS design, is to fully utilize and optimize the stock ram air setup and avoid the whole open element filter in the hot engine bay deal...
