Yes we are all wearing seat belts. If it's the airbag, what could it potentially mean? Should I get it checked up with my regular mechanic or at a dealership?

i would say get it checked. could be just a bad senor for the seats or in the seat belts them self. don't worry shouldn't be anything to make the airbag go off on you or anything just making the light come on.

What year IS do you drive? How many miles?
On some 06-08 ISs had an issue with the wiring harness making the light go off with a DTC for the Driver Knee Airbag Squib. This requires the dashboard harness to be replaced. Airbag warranty is the same as power train 70month 70,000 miles.

EDIT: Knightshade beat me to it.

It's a 2006 and it's got 130k miles. You think a lexus dealer would do it for free?

Ah... nope, not at 130,000 miles... you're at almost double the covered miles for warranty...

LSB says 4.5 hours labor, so you're probably looking at ~$500 labor at the dealer plus whatever the parts cost.

You can get the code scanned free at an autozone or something to see if it matches the DTC in the bulletin before taking it in though.
