so, do these things lift the hood automatically once the front latch is released, or does it just support the hood once opened?
It will support the hood once raised.
I doubt very much it will lift the hood once the latch is released. If it did, it would have to be extremely powerful in it's compressed state to lift over 35lbs (stock hood weight - just estimating that number) over 90 degrees.
As Prudens said... these struts do not lift up your hood all the way from closed position. When you start lifting the hood... after you pass a few inches the struts will start to support the hood.
i suppose that would make sense. whatever, i just wanna know when we can get these things and install em... that would be key.
i'm planning a few mods this year for the car. this would be a nice n easy first mod to kick the driving season off with, so i'm anxious i guess... are they here yet?
I'll call the guy from FIGS tomorrow and see how the prices change with 4 people. Then we can just send the money straight to him and have them shipped here.
I want to get mine to... the weather is nice... and it's a good time to install them.
point taken. i just think it would look and operate better. those are the types of mods i'm interested in, so i'm in. let me know when you hear something back
How so? It looks to me as if the FIGS props are right in the way. I'd have to go around them to lean in and get the filter. At least it looks that way from the pics you posted. I'd be interested to see a pic of them from from a side angle.
