Hey guys, not sure if anyone is interested or not, but after 5 months I finally got around to posting pictures from when I did my timing belt replacement. Nothing really amazing or anything, however if anyone finds this sorta thing interesting or is considering doing this themselves... you can check them out at the below link:
Sorry about that, should work now. It's DIY photos from when I did my belt a while back. It's not full instructions but should give you an idea of what's involved in replacing it.
hell yeah, excellent write up bro
good job, I didn't even think of using a chain wrench, excellent idea.
did you leave the car in park or put it in gear? Did you remove any other gears besides the bearing shown in the picture of parts needed?
also do you happen to have the part numbers for the replacement parts?
nice, but you did not change the cam or crank seals? I know.......... more work but eventually they leak.
Do you mind listing the cost of the parts, just curious what they go for. Thanks and good work.
Very rarely will the crank and cam seals leak on a 2jz. Your vavle cover gaskets will leak before your front seals. I promise. Also, Toyota crank seals almost never leak. Cams on v6s is another story.
